Alabama should have rich rod as the coach. Still can't believe Moore offered him the job. What a lucky SOB.

I'm glad Saban left. I was tired of the where is he going this week rumors. Bama hasn't endured much of that yet. The part that upset me was him coming back to the same division of same conference a year later. I think we'd have at least 2 more NTs had he stayed.

Pretty good. UA, considering the trajectory at the time, would have eventually gotten the death penalty.

Roll Tide.

Probably not the answered wanted so....UA at some point would have gotten a good HC. I respected Shula...he's a very good assistant, just not a good HC.

Not very good IMO. We were trending down.

13-1 and a national championship appearance one year and 3 losses including an embarrassing bowl game loss the next.

Things were not looking good for us.

I remember many LSU fans making this comparison with the Bama program after Bama won the Title in '09 and lost three the next year.

Saban would have won the same # of SEC titles. Lsu actually plays more than 2 annual difficult games.

It wouldn't have taken bama long to build a juggernaut and overtake a Saban led lsu team. Order will always be restored in this league, and that means that bama can't be kept down for long, it's just the nature of the beast. Hell, sabans worst loss was a thumping at the hands of Alabama.

I know it kills people to accept this, but if you average it out in the poll era Alabama wins a title more frequently than once a decade. We're just one of the top few football programs in America and always will be.

But it's not averaged out. Coach Bryant won the conference 13 times in 21 years (61-81). The following 27 years (1982-2008) - 3 times. That's not balance. LSU owes Coach Saban a lot, UA even more. That decade plus love affair with the NCAA came to an end as opposed to continuing to sanctioned riddled oblivion. Don't get me wrong, UA is easier to recruit than other teams in the region, to build up...but don't think it'll 'just happen'. Ask NU. Ask USC. Hell, ask ND.
