Checking out this article titled: University of Missouri expects big increase in freshmen

But when you dig in, things don't look so good.
quote:

The University of Missouri is predicting a surge in freshman enrollment for the fall, reversing a trend that began in 2016 after protests that drew national attention to the Columbia campus and months of adverse publicity.

So no proof just a prediction based on a few extra hundred that accepted. That doesn't hold a lot of weight for me.

Here is where things start getting worse.
quote:

Overall enrollment at MU is expected to continue to decline

Look at all the ways MU is reaching just to keep enrollment from bottoming out.
quote:

A partnership between MU and Moberly Area Community College designed to help students obtain a four-year degree begun last year is part of the effort to boost transfers.

Begging community colleges. I'm not so sure these are the kids you want at your school.

quote:

Chancellor Alexander Cartwright and UM System President Mun Choi to reduce costs for textbooks, residence halls and meals as well as new financial aid for lower-income students.

I am no business expert, but when you reduce revenue by not having as many students then you seem to be reducing it even more by lowing prices across the board. It seems like a massive teacher layoff will be in the works.

Should Greg Sankey start scouting other schools to come in and replace Mizzou in the not so distant future? I say yes. I'm worried about yall.

Yeah, it takes a business expert to understand the law of supply and demand.

We are sorry we brought Missouri along with us. We didn't intend for that to happen during realignment.

Long term, they’ll be fine.
Mizzou is a great university.
SJWs will soon go the way of hippies and will be a part of our history, not our present.

And some point any decline in demand spirals faster, and less demand usually causes a decline in price.

Before teachers are dismissed administrative costs should get a hard look. They are directly responsible for the unstabable and uneconomic cost of college today. And yes.. Missouri admins have only themselves to blame for their decline. Who in their right mind would allow a part time female radical teacher to become the symbol of the University? And in retrospect the football program should have kicked all the “protestors” off scholarship and played the rest of the season with walk-ons.

What a freaking disaster... one that Tennessee only narrowly avoided with the banning of Christmas, and the requirement of use of new gender neutral pronouns. But then again the sentence “Tennessee, zou suck” has a certain rhyme to it.

With Mizzou being the flagship University for the state and in control of UMKC, UMSL, Missouri S and T, I don't see it going anywhere. The generation below the millennials don't have as many kids so the university is expecting enrollment declines, but they are struggling to recover from the protests. It sounds like they are lowering the requirements to get accepted to allow more students, and that doesn't make the school look good.

I still don’t understand how they qualify as a SEC school, I don’t see them that way at all. I have family in the KS/MO area and the culture is not the same.

Mizzou is another Vandy type of football team for the Sec East.
It must be nice for UF and UGA to get Mizzou/Vandy/UK/UT each year.
Other than Maty Mauk and DGB, they haven’t been relevant since Chase Daniels and Jeremy Maclin in 07/08.

the obsession you have is sickening.

A restraining order may be necessary soon.
