For all the bravado on the board, LSU could win. The percentage is probably 10%, so it is unlikely. However, it is similar to the situation in 1997 when no. 1 Spurrier-coached Florida came to Baton Rouge as a heavy favorite (against a Dinardo-coached LSU team with a "meh" QB) and LSU won.

Imagine if the same thing happens on Saturday. LSU, coached by Ed Orgeron with a "meh" quarterback would have defeated the best team ever coached by the best coach ever quarterbacked by the best quarterback ever. It would make for a truly unforgettable experience for both teams. I'm sure Auburn and Georgia fans can relate.

This is a situation where LSU can't lose. If LSU loses, the team simply goes on to run the table and makes it in to a NY6 game and exceeds expectations. However, if LSU wins, it would be a timeless victory against Alabama, an unforgettable win for the ages, and we'll see how far this over-achieving team will go.

I actually do think Nick Saban is the best college coach ever at this point so I know he will prepare his team. However, LSU can win and in the back of every Bama fan's mind, they know that.

Fight, and you may die. Run, and you may live... at least for awhile.

Any team CAN win. But LSU won’t win.

It's percentages. Alabama is in a better position to win but you CAN'T say they WILL win.

You know that and that's why you are apprehensive.

You know why I know you are apprehensive? You felt the need to respond to my post.

Did anyone have LSU in the playoffs at the beginning of the year?

How about Alabama? If LSU beats them and Alabama doesn't make the playoffs, wouldn't the year be a failure for them?

Thanks. I would be happy with a NY6 bowl. It means we are progressing and exceeding expectations this year.

I love how all the Bama fans are upvoting their threads. Maybe if they upvote their own threads enough that will ensure that Bama WILL beat LSU.

Now this is a fair and honest post. Nobody should have a problem with posts like this...fro either side.

Thanks, man. Here's hoping for a good game and no injuries. Obviously, I'm also hoping for an LSU victory, too

A) Not really an "upset" if #3 beats #1, at home. But it would be a significant win for sure.

I mean, irony is ironic, right?

Hold your horses, hoss. Ask Auburn how last year panned out for them. I'll never forget the fat chick waddling through the bushes at the end of the auburn game.
I wonder what she was doing that January night when they crowned us, again...

So, it's not an "upset" if a 14-point underdog wins? So, what is it, is LSU an elite team that has just as much chance of beating Alabama as it does losing or is it a weak team with no chance to win? At least be consistent in your arguments.

Yes, LSU can't lose. If we go 10-2 and make it to a NY6 game we exceed expectations. If we keep Bama from the playoffs it would be a total failure for Bama.

Finally, you are jumping the gun on your last point. If LSU beats Bama, Bama still needs to make the playoffs. As an LSU fan, I'm confident I'd be very happy beating Bama this year regardless of what Bama goes on to do.

I don't put stock in to what Vegas thinks.

If LSU wins it would be #3 beating #1. It would be a solid win for LSUs resume and put their destiny in their own hands to win the SEC West, if not the SEC outright.

LSU is a very strong team. Same as they have been the last 10 years. If I were to put a %age on it, in my opinion, I'd give them a solid 40% chance. I don't think it's a 50/50 chance because I think Bama has a better Offense than LSU, in general. But anything can happen.

I think I am.

Yes, LSU can lose. I think y'all have put too much stock into this year with the whole "free devin white" campaign and such. I think if Bama comes in there and handles business with a solid 17+ point win, it'll be demoralizing for a lot of your fanbase. That would make it, what, 8 in a row? You definitely can lose, both on the scoreboard and by getting demoralized in your own stadium, at night on a big arse hyped game.

Finally, you are jumping the gun on your last point. If LSU beats Bama, Bama still needs to make the playoffs.

No we don't. I mean our fanbase expects to make the playoffs yearly but after last years NC with "Tua and 26", I think we'll all live if we don't make it this year. Will we be disappointed, sure, but we'll manage.

And therein lies the difference in our fanbases.
