I don't understand UT fans being so down. Anyone who thought UT would go from 1 sec win to 5 or 6 within 1 year were kidding yourselves.

UT's a better team than last year but you can't fix a bad defense and no running game overnight. That being said, if you make it to 7-5 you'll have gone undefeated against all non-ranked teams on your schedule, that's huge improvement (no more losing to UK!), and Dooley's doing his job.

I'm not anymore down then I have been. Dooley was never going to win. It has always just been a matter of time before the change.

And if Tennessee goes 7-5, Dooley will be doing another job next season.

I strongly desire Auburn to be on the list with no question mark in the OP.

I would, too, if I was an Auburn fan. I just don't know what the powerful people at Auburn are thinking. John L Smith was never going to be here in 2013, and I can't imagine Kentucky keeping Joker.

It's not fair. There should be more white players.

Why? Why can't it simply be who is the most qualified for the job?

And FTR, I'm alot more bothered by us having to cut loose a great coordinator and former UK player who is a Wildcat to the core but just wasn't ready to be a HC without that experience. Race should have nothing to do with it. Everyone wanted Joker to be successful here because he's one of us.

It seems more likely the team quit on Dooley. Just like they do every time something goes wrong.

sounds to me like your team is the one that is the losers. quitting against a rival just because one encounters set backs is a sure sign of a loser. dooley isn't your problem at ut. your problem is fulmer and kiffin left the cupboard bare or thuggy. it's insane not to allow the coach following that shite enough time to turn things around. fulmer lost his prowess when he lost the ability to recruit georgia (richt hired gardner) and south carolina (spurrier finally got it going). ut drastically needs to successfully recruit the states surrounding it to be successful.

You misunderstood my comment, I certainly wasn't trying to imply you guys should keep Joker because he is black or should hire a black coach just because he is black. It is just a statistical anomaly that so many coaches are white but are often former players even though most of the players are black. There should be more black coaches, especially at the head coach level...in general, not at Kentucky per se.

Your point is solid, I was just kidding around. But it is funny how nobody thinks it's discriminatory that such a small percentage of college athletes are white.

But I do agree with you - it is an issue that so few black HEAD coaches are out there. We see a good number of programs who hire black assistants, but there is still a perception that they can't handle being head coach, and it's a shame.

Not many arguments can be refuted completely with one word.

don't know why UT fans are so mad. A few more guys on D and they have a great team.

Their QB is an emotional retard who can't play in big games.... they're very, very far from great.

We're going on 5 years of irrelevance now. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect some sort of "big win" from Dooley after 2.5 seasons. He has demonstrated nothing to show that he will ever be able to coach TN to winning a championship. I also think most fans can't forgive him for the Kentucky loss. Or the LSU 13 men on the field debacle. I only hope Tennessee fires him if there is a home run hire available who has basically already agreed to take the job. If that isn't there, might as well keep him for another year.

Man...some folks dont get it or are too damn stupid. Dooley took a job NOBODY wanted after the shitfest spiffykiffy laid at the feet of the AD.

Recruits reneged on their committments...remember and of course most of you dont because you are a knee jerk reactionary with peanut brains. Dooley had to immediately assemble a staff and recruit at the midnight hour....his hands were tied. Some of your best players transferred out (thugs anyway because of the atmosphere siffy kiffy created). I felt bad for Dooley and believe me...I suffered a lot at the hands of his diddy Vince and those damn leghumpers.
Dooley was smart and got some recruits by promising immediate playing time if they could count to 10 backwards. He did play inordinate amount of true frosh...guess what? You cant in the SEC with true frosh starters all over the roster.
The main problem is that recruits are hearing about job security by other schools and it scares them off. They wanna know their HC will be around.
Soo...go ahead and act like that grade B movie with the townsfolk carrying pitchforks and torches ready to storm the castle because their team lost a game.
Gator fans will implode when we lose our first game this year and it always starts with posts about what coaches are available out there..even though you have one currently employed.

UK is shot....Strong is at rival and unlike Petino he wont go to an instate rival.

UT? Franklin wont for above reasons. I do know this: the AD will have someone already hired in principle before they let Dooley go. Its embarassing to do coach search and your top choices say thanks but no thanks. Oh.,they will do the PR circuit and claim a search committe is reviewing candidates and may even interview one or two quickly....but the decision will be made ahead of time.
If Dooley goes 8-4 he should be retained and I am counting on UT beating either USC or UGA, but since both are road games....hmmm. Right now if I were HC at UT I would sit Bray Boy down and run wildcat or whatever to gain rushing yds and only use Bray if UT is behind the chains. A lot of the team would balk...but thats the way to win. The OC would be on a short leash and told there is NOT be over 20 passes thrown in a game.

You may be right about the hire being made ahead of time.

But it's pretty unlikely Dooley is back next year.
