How many of y’all have kids who attend a different SEC school than you’re a fan of?

My son went to A&M. Made sense because we live in Texas, and they gave him a scholarship, but it was hard at first to get used to it. In the end, he got a good education and is part of a huge alumni association, so I’m very proud of him, but I still despise A&M.

Mine almost went to TTech. Thank goodness she's in Fayetteville instead. Even she sighs in relief.

My youngest son is at Miss St. Not an issue. He’s still a Bama fan.

My kid is still in grade school and to be honest, team affiliation is the least of my worries when it comes to college options. Getting him to age 18 alive and non-douchbagged is my primary concern. Cost/Benefit is my second concern.

My oldest is going to UAB come August.

My second oldest is actually dead set on Alabama. I could give a flying frick where she goes to school as long as she gets a quality education. I'll say many bad things about Bama athletics, but they're a good school that will set her up for success.

One went to Tulsa and the other is about to graduate from Arkansas. It’s ridiculously hard to get into Texas these days. Both could have gone to A&M, and had my blessing to do so, but apparently I brainwashed them pretty good growing up.. both kids love the school they chose and that’s all you can ask for..

The toughest part for me was going to orientation. The yell leaders got up and taught the parents their weird cheers. My wife and I just couldn’t bring ourselves to participate. We couldn’t be more proud of our boy, and we totally supported him, but we draw a line on doing those lame Aggie cheers.

I threatened to cut mine off and disown them ... as all good fathers should.

That was a long time ago though, God bless'm. They all did their things and have done well. Really the only schools I forbade were Clemson, Michigan State and Texas.

The four of them, they ended-up at UNC/UC Berkeley, College of Charleston/Georgetown, Miami/FAU and Newberry College.

I really wanted my youngest daughter to go to UF rather than Miami. But Miami made us an offer we couldn't refuse. And FAU ended-up as her Phd choice so it worked out okay.

Just wait y'all, your kids will try to bankrupt you with their college choices. Be strategic, don't give-in to their little petty bratty whims. Crack the frickin' whip.

We are huge LSU fans living in Jax and I wouldn’t mind my daughter staying close to go to UF although I would rather FSU. Not a chance I pull for their sports though, and she wouldn’t either.

I've a friend that played football at Miami back in the day. Yep those days. One daughter went to UF and the other FSU.

My boy got a full ride due to a very generous local scholarship. Incredibly thankful for that.

My son is a freshman at Arkansas this year. I’ve been impressed with their School of Business and their Honors College.

We would have saved money by him staying in Missouri but he wasn’t interested in going to Columbia or the other colleges in Southwest Missouri.

I grew up an LSU fan.

Daughter about to graduate from South Carolina. I’ve really enjoyed rooting for the Gamecocks (unless vs LSU) these past 3 years. Great football atmosphere and really solid across a number of sports.
