Flynn does have potential, but I would like to see more from him outside of that one game where he broke records in GB. Ingram could provide some depth. I think he is a good RB, but needs to be in an offense that allows him 20 carries a game to really show what he can do. Would also like to see how Mo, Minter, TM7 do. They could provide solid depth at least.
Too bad Kevin Faulk is gone. He was always a solid 3rd down back and could catch the ball

Yeah, TM7 and Rashad Johnson would give us Safety depth. Javy would give us a Nickel Corner.

I wonder if there are 12 fanbases face palming right now.

We already had one poster say only 2 fanbases care about this. Just happens to be the 2 with the most fans on this site.
This also might be the longest a LSU/Bama thread has gone without turning into a flame war

Now if we add UGA players. That really might equal Super Bowl contender. You add Mathew Stafford and AJ Green to the passing game, which is waht the NFL is now.
Also could prolly push it to being better suited for the 3-4

Julio and AJ would be tremendous but yeah, mobile passing QB's from UA/LSU...Flynn is about it...we could use the help....how about that freshman/sophomore jizzcup...what's his name?

I still think you need a passing QB, like a Brees, Brady, or Mannings.

Gotcha...I just decided that Aggies are going to be my mortal enemy so I was throwing some chum overboard.

Did you read that article with Browns/Lombardi. Short but pretty cool though.

I do think it'd be a solid team too. There aren't really any HUGE stars on the team, but they all play well for the positions they're at, and it's pretty well-rounded. The most questionable of all the position groups would definitely have to be the D-line though.

I just call them the Shelties. And a Sheltie was a good luck charm against them too. At 9-0 and 20 minutes of barking, I let him in. Well it 24-3 good guys till a late TD.
And no I didn't read the article. What was it about?

I would also add QB to the questionable group. I think Flynn could be an above average starter, but we don't know yet.
That's why I said if we add UGA, it could be a Super Bowl contender when you add AJ and Stafford and all the other players.

Grantland article on Cleveland Browns...LSU related...from SECR
quote:
"The SEC is a whole different animal," says Lombardi. "If all we did was take guys from Alabama and LSU, we'd be fricking great." -Mike Lombardi, GM
"That said, drafting an edge rusher from LSU doesn't exactly qualify as divergent thinking. That's not outside the box. That's inside the box. It might be the box itself. But when you're 23rd in the league in yards allowed, the box is what you need." -Author

I remember that article now being posted. I only read the portions quoted in the 2 threads then, and skimmed it this time. He isn't far off.

The fact that lsu and bama could field an entire nfl team that wouldn't lose every game is pretty much astonishing

This. Scary thing is the team would actually have quality depth at several positions that would need it.

This active list is pretty impressive but the All great LSU-Bama NFL team would not lose. O-line has John Hannah, Alan Fanaca and Kevin Mawae QB is either Namath, Starr, Stabler, or Bert Jones. Several more players I can't think of off the top of my head.
