Most fans of any kind do it. It's stupid to even care about.

Interesting. And I respect your opinion.
I just never have--nor will I ever--think of my university (to include fellow Ags who happen to be athletes) as an organization; I think of 'em as family.
We.

No. It means you went to class, passed somewhat, and got a degree. None of that makes you a fan. A degree doesn't give anyone the exclusive right to say "we" in regards to sports. If you want to discuss academic matters or things of that nature then cool, say "we".

Does the CEO of a company ask the accounting department for advice on what to do about the sales team's strategy? Of course not but I bet the accounting department employees still say "we" when talking about the big sale the company made when talking to outsiders.

If not for we fans buying tickets and licensed products we wouldn't have a team to pull for.
I'm certainly not arguing this fact. But it still doesn't give you a right to say "we"
When u buy a ticket to a concert have you ever said, "damn we played one hell of a concert tonight". ?

Why do you care if people use "we?" To be honest it makes you come off as an argumentative twat.

Horrible example, each part of a company is vital to its success. No, they aren't gonna ask members of accounting to help with marketing but if marketing department fricks up, ThE WHOLE company suffers.
Where as, if you decide you aren't gonna buy any more shirts, tickets or tailgate anymore, your team will not suffer 1 bit. They will never know, nor give a shite

LSULyle00690, how bout this, Coach Saban said the fans of Alabama are part of the team. And other people have the right to say we if they want whether you or anyone else agree or not.

Whatever the almighty Saban says is sacred?
News flash, he is a guy who puts his pants on one leg at a time. You really think he might say " the fans have nothing to do with our success". ?

Yes because you actually believe that if a lowly employee (which is how you are categorizing fans) quits a business that the higher ups actually give a shite.
The football team is just a part of the university. It isn't THE university. This isn't a professional sports team where your argument would make sense.

Look, I know I'm in the minority here, just about all my friends say "we"
I just think it sounds really stupid.
I'm not gonna change how y'all speak, just want y'all to look at another point of view, that's all

Agreed. And I do.

um.... YES. If it's your absolute favorite band and they were competing for a prize against an abomination of a band that represents everything wrong with music and society in general.
I think a good place to use we would be referring to your national team. In which case, they are most certainly we.

No, but what he says carries a hell of a lot more weight than you.
And again, folks can say we if they want. If you choose not to say it that's your choice.

Does an athlete that signs an LOI but has yet to enroll in school or participate in practice or a game have the right to say "WE"?
