5 is the record for most consecutive appearances in the SEC title game set by Florida 1992-1996.

No one in the SEC East is recruiting near the level of UGA right now. Tennessee is the closest, currently 11th nationally on 247, but the Vols have a long way to go.

Florida players are still talking shite and not backing it up. Dan is recruiting so poorly it seems like he couldn't convince a family member to play for him.

Mizzou can't recruit, and South Carolina can't seem to mount much of a challenge out of the good recruits they get. Kentucky and Vandy are hardly worth mentioning.

Do any of these teams have a good shot of winning the East over UGA in the next five years?

Not without the recruits. UGA seems content (for now) to take teams into the deep water and drown them. Pounding the lines, and shutting down the run.

The east teams have to be deeper than their starting 22, because UGA damn sure is, and will continue to be.

So, to answer, UGA should be the favorite for the next 3, so I'll say 4.

There is no indication that another team in the East will close on Georgia over next 5yrs just with the young talent on Georgia roster and the 2019/2020 classes as they now sit (subject to change, I know).

Georgia’s only real threat now is other teams poaching our coaching and all-star recruiting staff - that could be a game changer.

Dell McGee(RB coach), Sam Pittman(OL coach), James Coley(Co OC), Glenn Schumman(LB coach) - those guys are lifeblood.

Yeah. I can't see us falling back with Pittman on the staff.
And the QB position looks comfortable for the next 3 years at least.

They could very well do it. Playing AU late in the year is even very helpful to them since we may be the only really tough game they have each year. They get basically a whole season under their belt before they get a truly tough game.

I wouldn't say that's the only threat, but you make a valid point. Those coaching changes are inevitable and how Kirby addresses that will go a long way to determining his long-term success.

I can see 5 without much of challenge. You would think both 10RC and UF will round into pretty good teams within 3 years. Kirby is in a Good Spot...says Guz Malzan
