I don't think it will happen again. I always thought that the ease of televisions with big screens and the comforts of home would make an impact....this virus ordeal has added another slap to the attempt to draw the average fan. The revenues at the turnstiles will take a hit....and the economy in a state of disrepair working it's way forward will fluctuate many times effecting contributions. It might be years before anyone is comfortable in large crowds. If it happens at all...I am guessing 5 years minimum and by then the whole thing could be much different. Probably a depressing subject, but one that no fan can ignore. The game can't rebound with no fans in the stand.

You think there will literally never be a college football game with 80k in the stands again? That is insane hyperbole

The plan right now, at least in the SEC, is to have football this Fall with full stadiums.
College football has an enormous effect on the economies of college towns and revenues for the schools themselves. Going a year without fans in the stands would have a tremendously negative financial impact on so many people. The university presidents and mayors of SEC college towns have basically decided to take the public health risks inherent in gathering tens of thousands of people in the same place and see what happens. Some places might require fans to wear face masks or something similar, but football will be happening this Fall.

i think there's going to be a lot of empty stadiums this fall which sucks. there is nothing like being there. nothing. watching at home is nice and comfortable but, it's just not the same.
i think the reason why is not what most people think - the schools don't need fans in the stands. the tv contracts are more than enough for revenue and the schools can appease the peta/climate change/pc/rainbow flag/white guilt crowd by keeping fans away. they can still say they're obeying fauci at the same time as saying by the time they work out what went wrong, we'll be sitting on a beach, earning twenty percent

I think it'll be the exact opposite honestly.

I think that someone is about to make a lot of money selling school face masks.
If any of you start it, remember me and send me money. If not, I will use this post to prove I gave you the idea..

2021 is when stadiums will be packed. Uga vs Clemson will be epic.

It’s a conspiracy against Trump and no there won’t be 80k fans in any stadium on the first week. Every major sport including MLB and the NBA is making plans without fans; MLB isn’t proposing on starting until July. NASCAR which draws as many fans in stadiums as the SEC is already operating without fans.

Simple answer - will people pack shoulder to shoulder this fall to attend a Trump rally? Of course. Are there enough of those people to pack an SEC stadium to watch the greatest conference on earth? Yes sir!
