How is UK only a 2 point favorite at 6-10 Vandy today?

Good point, I think you need to load up on Kentucky. No way they don’t cover. :-)

Just read this RBR article on the gym. Really does look like a pain in the arse gimmick. I respect tough places like Cameron. This kind of crap just comes across as weak, though.

Between the gym and only seven scholarship players playing (Green and Wynyard out), that’s probably about right.

That article has me wondering if Bama has won at Vandy since then

Said in the article (2011) they hadn't won there in 21 years. Feb 1990

Bama beat Vandy in Memorial in I think 2012. Might have been 2013 idk. One of Grant's years

Memorial is a tough place to play. We haven't had our full team at any one point this year. I could see it being close.

Weak would mean it doesn't work. It works, and does so without altering the court in any fashion that affects play (see: Boise State's blue unis/blue field.) I suppose you could argue the goals, but they're not insane or anything. They're perfectly good goals with the off-court portion different. And elevated floors are hardly unheard-of, especially at tournament (pre- and post-) sites.

A gimmick that works consistently is a design triumph.

It affects coaches' ability to communicate with their teams

It's only legal because it was grandfathered in.

That's why I specified the court itself. And I think that's the weakest of the critiques -- it alters the ability of both sets of coaches. The only advantage I can imagine is that Vandy coaches teach their teams to operate independently if necessary...which all coaches should be doing.
