How is Texas going to cope with losing the claim to "UT" within the conference?

I doubt that SEC folks will ever think of UT as Texas rather than Tennessee. Will the Longherns be able to handle this reality?

They came to our house 100 years late. Tennessee is a charter member of the SEC so we get to keep UT. It'd be a different story if Tennessee went to the Big12.

Since you're an Aggie, I'm sure you're joking, but I'll upvote you since I agree with your statement. 
But in reality, I think most of us don't care. Call us UT, call us Texas.. we're just glad to be in this conference.

They’ve lost their soul. Austin doesn’t count as Texas anymore. They don’t even deserve the right to refer to themselves as Texans

I don't really think any coping will be necessary. Very few alumni refer to themselves as "UT" graduates or fans, and most of us just refer to the school as "Texas".
Plus, seeing as Tennessee was the first "UT" in the conference, it's only fair they keep the moniker. We'll be happy with "Texas"

The SEC has a lot of problems. Texas will take over and get things fixed. No one cares what you call us but feel free to say "thank you" in advance.
