Would affect LSU much more than it would the conference. No one team leaving would be detrimental to the conference. Has to be win-win for both parties, LSU/SEC is win-win. But if you want to test the waters...put your hand in a bucket of water and then remove it, the hole that it leaves is how much you will be missed. True for anyone or any school.

Meh....the problem I have with that is that LSU, UF, and Bama are the 3 schools in the SEC that national audiences tune in for. When those schools play, especially each other, the nation watches.
UT, Auburn, UGA, aTm, etc....not so much.

Very little. It's not like LSU is the lone powerhouse in the league. A&M would just take their role over and the league would just keep rolling. One school leaving would do nothing. Have it at and see how it works out for ya.

you host the SEC Rant. So I'd say it's imperative you stay in the SEC. Other than that though I don't give a shite if your in the conference or not. You'd lose some of your recruiting swagger nation wide if you left the SEC. Also your program has shown they aren't alabama so you'd be subject to more down seasons if you left.

I believe the impact is greater on the school than the conference in any scenario. If Bama changed conferences, bringing in the two or three brand names from another conference for a home game just would not have the appeal of the teams we have in the SEC.

you aren't. You've never been as successful as they are or as respected as Bama is. These are facts and disputing them is stupid.

Bama would be fine and could find marquee games all over the country.

Very damn important. Being the most-liked by the nation outside of the SEC, from having more collegiate national championships than our fellow 13 conference schools , from being one of the if not the most unique in the conference. Part of the big 6.
We ARE the SEC.
We ARE the SEC.

We like our home field advantage too much - New Orleans, Atlanta, Baton Rouge, Knoxville...

This is a pointless argument. There is no conceivable reason for LSU to leave the SEC. NONE. They simply don't fit anywhere else. The same reasons we left the Big 12 are the same reasons LSU will not join the Big 12.

I think you are wrong. LSU and Arky would be great fits for the Big 12. Not that farfetched either.

LSU is very important to the SEC. The conference has finally achieved its goal...the most Tiger mascots in FBS. What other conference can tout 3 tigers? No way we could go back to just having 2 now. If LSU left, the SEC would have to add Clemson or Princeton...just to get back to our goal.

LSU has been one of the top 3 programs in the SEC during the BCS era. I would say they are part of the foundation of the SEC.

Yea they think Alabama "calls the shots" around here, yet their other option is going to the Big XII and joining a conference with Texas
On the other hand, I'm sure Aimes, Lubbock, and Lawrence are lovely in the fall.

It's a shame that LSU fans have been reduced to needy, whiney and insecure little bitches.

LSU and Alabama are 1A/1B....I know the rest of you little brothers and probably even Bama themselves don't want to admit it.
In recent times LSU and UF have both won more than Bama....If you look back from 1999 - 2012 I bet LSU has either the top 1 or 2 win-loss records in the SEC....I'd bet that the other one is UF. Alabama is somewhere around about 3-5 I'd guess.
LSU has 2 titles and Bama has 2 titles. Bama may get #3 in a few weeks. Hell LSU may get #3 next year who knows.
Also another fact to consider.....LSU played (with Bama) in the highest nationally rated SEC game the past 2 years.
Now in the next 10-15 years Bama may be clearly the best.....but right now like I said as much as all you little siblings don't want to admit it LSU is at very least co-top dog my friend.
