Even LSU has been three times with a national title before tourney

Have had some really unfortunate draws in the tournament.
For example, the 1976 tournament. Had to play the undefeated Indiana team in the 2nd round.

Just haven't been good enough in the tournament. Had some rough draws, lost some close games, had some teams underachieve.
A little bit of everything.
A little bit of everything.

Why are you melting so early in the game? Sheesh

A1abana basketball has 1 SEC Title in the last 30 years!

Alabama basketball is like Wisconsin football. Always around, always lingering, frequently discussed in the distance, but never taken seriously because the breaks never went its way.

Final 4 is the hardest achievement in College Athletes.

Most apt description I’ve seen.

"Cause it's unfair that other teams recruited better players and kept us out of the final four. I think they need to do something!" - a lot of these bitches, tonight, probably

All of that, with an emphasis on the rough draws.

And yet it's by far the second best team in the SEC historically.

Some similarities, but the margin of error for a double elimination tournament at the regionals, super regionals and the WS makes it easier. In Basketball you have to win 6 straight road games in a two week period, with 3 of the games only having 1 day of prep.

The five Senior starters on the 55-56 team that was 21-3 (14-0) were ineligible for post season play because they had played as Freshmen. First team in CBB history to score 100 points on Kentucky. Four members of the team are SEC Legends.

Yep. That team was legit. The PTB seeded the SEC to lose back in the day.

quote:This is true. As long as the metric you are using has absolutely nothing to do with the NCAA tournament (# of tournament games played, winning percentage, sweet 16s, elite eights, final fours) or winning regular season SEC titles, this is definitely true.
And yet it's by far the second best team in the SEC historically.

Well, Alabama's previous undefeated conference season, they didn't even get to go to the NCAA tournament.
So, there's that
So, there's that

We've never been to a final four because basically, we have not been good enough. When we care enough to be competitive at that level it may be different
