Yes. I think.

Two teams or less in the sweet 16.

The best it has been in a long time.

3 legit final four contenders in Tennessee, Kentucky, and LSU.

Very likely 3 other tourney teams (Auburn, Mississippi State, and Mississippi).

Possibly 1-2 more (Florida and/or Bama)

Overachieving in the conference so far. That's not a knock on USC. We'll see where things finish up. Looking at your remaining schedule, I would expect a 2-3 finish for you. That would put you at 11-7 in the conference. I think MSU, Auburn, Mississippi, and Florida will end up with similar conference records with better OOC resumes.

And we beat all 4 of them.
(well would be a split with MSU)

Lol these LSU fans all saying the same things

We’re an outlier and the conference is really good so that way LSU being good isn’t cheapened by a weak conference

None of them will say we are a good team because that would mean the SEC isn’t as good as originally thought

As I stated, overachieving. There is at least one team in each conference that is doing better in conference than overall.

What would Oklahoma State's record be in the SEC?

or Indiana's.

SEC basketball is middle-of-the-pack , at best. The fact the MSU & Ole Miss are projecting as tournament teams is proof enough. Those are 2 very meh basketball teams

This seems like an uncommon opinion in this thread and others.
Among some fans.

So, it isn't possible for South Carolina to be a mediocre basketball team and the SEC to still be one of the best conferences?

I think we’re a young and improved team in a conference that is good but overrated. The top 3 are as good as anyone.

The rest are “any given day”.

If your line of thinking is similar with that, then my bad. I don’t know your qualifications for “one of the best conferences”

Yeah that's kinda what the OOC represents.. A team that couldn't compete OOC is going to finish 4th in the conference. Either that team had a miraculous turnaround when conference play began, or the conference just isn't all that good.

The SEC is clearly behind the ACC. I think we're 4th, behind the BIG10 and BIG12 as well

when you say final four, I assume you mean last four in?

Tenny is good, Uk can be good but hard to predict how good. After that, LSU could make a run because March is special but thats the only reason why.

SEC sucks this year.
