How does UF have over 25 players, 3 coaches with covid?

When most other SEC schools are reporting very low single digits and ZERO? I think it's a leadership failure at the school. Not saying Mullen, but probably their A.D. and/or health staff; there's a weak link somewhere in their protocol for covid mitigation.
"Mullen said he thinks the initial outbreak was caused by the team's travel to Texas A&M on Oct. 10, and that it could have been the result of one or two players having the virus and spreading it on the flight to College Station." Umm, NO, Airline travel is one of least likely places to contract the virus because the cabin air is constantly recirculated and filtered per the CDC tests done recently, in addition to stringent masks mandates and seat disinfecting/cleaning after each flight by airlines.
IMO the players have been lackadaisical with personal bubble routines. They haven't had proper harping and lecturing by their health experts. Like I say, just imo, and knock on wood that it doesn't happen to Bama or any other SEC team, because of the domino effect and schedule disruptions it has on other teams.

its more than just the flight. when players are in their rooms they are not wearing masks. Also the whole team, or at least big groups get together to eat

Something still doesn't add up. They are not the only team that has travelled.
I don't know if they stayed in Bryan-College Station (Pop 234,000) or North Houston area but when a team is on the road there is almost no time to themselves. There are meetings, trips to the field, team meal etc. All teams are in a controlled environement.
Less than 28,000 tickets were sold for a stadium that seats just over 102,000.
There have been no reports of a surge in Covid in the local Houston or Bryan-College Station area. There has been no reported increase in illness for the Texas Aggie football team or for the officials.
There was a soccer game Sunday between Florida and the Aggies in College Station. No increase in Covid.
Sounds like an internal problem with the football team.

I'll push back a bit and say that it is naïve to think you can control the virus. At best, you manage it. Cases are going to happen. Asymptomatic transmission is well-established and teams are testing everyone on a routine basis. So all it takes is for one guy with a well-timed infection and no symptoms to spread it to dozens of teammates. Even the best of mitigation strategies and protocols will not prevent all transmission.
The good news is that DI athletes are among the least likely to have severe symptoms or require hospitalization.

Because you can't run away from a virus. Life has to move on.
Also this is what you wear to avoid a virus, not these "Made in China" masks.

Bad testing service or bad testing kits - also a possibility.

Yeah right.
Aggie fans called out for packing Kyle Field

Well, where are all the dead Aggies? Shouldn't the hospitals in BCS be filled to the brim?
And are you attempting to suggest that students crowded together on the 2nd deck managed to infect UF players down on the field? That would be a neat trick.

Cause the virus spreads easily?

You do know these masks do absolutely nothing to prevent the spread of a virus, right?

You're a fool if you don't think this is going to happen again with many other teams. It will, and the later in the season it happens will cause total chaos with rankings and post season. Mark my words.

Take it easy Dick Tracy, I saw someone post some bullshite and I called it out. Simple as that. I don't know anything about this virus, and I suspect no one else does either.
For the regulators to come out and say something different every few months tells me all I need to know.

Weren’t there a number of programs that had major CoVid outbreaks but got lucky that it happened before the season? I know Alabama, LSU, and Tennessee all did. It’s bound to happen. There’s 100+ people in a football program who are all constantly within close proximity of one another. You have one person who gets CoVid and it’s going to spread like wildfire.

You called it out with an opinon column. Use facts next time and you won't look so bad.
btw Dallas Gator, welcome to Texas. Hope you are making a lot of money like the rest of us.

Megan Mullen mouth kissing the whole team and staff probably doesn't help. Lol.

Who cares, at the players age and state of fitness the mortality rate is lower than the flu?

Didnt quite a few SEC schools have huge outbreaks before the season?
Same thing happened to us. I would bet most teams will have the barrier break at some point this season. It's just hard to stop.
