Notre Dame was in consideration and close to grabbing a playoff spot. You leave a the most storied program in college football lore hanging at go time?

What does that speak of your character?

I don’t blame LSU at all for going after him in the slightest but frick you look like the man caught screwing the married man’s wife on this one.

It speaks more to notre dame not doing what it takes to keep a successful coach.

You can only ride a brand name so far now days without upgrading facilities to help recruiting. No one is making glorifying movies about them anymore.

let's be honest here. Reilly was negotiating with USC the week after they fired their HC.
The reason you will see this more often is the early signing day. Which I think will come under review this off season.

It shows that LSU is the better job for someone who cares about winning championships and not just “being up there”.

When the hot girl on the block says come over, you kick the ugly chick to the curb and come running

He has a better chance at winning a national championship over the next 5 years at LSU than he does at Notre Dame this year.

Plus more money.

And milder winters.

Kelly did what mark richt did...Leave a program that couldn't win a championship to one that could..

ND to LSU

UGA to Miami

Most Notre Dame fans are pretty happy Kelly is gone. That says enough about Kelly IMO. Mainly because he has no character. In that way, he is a perfect fit for LSU. Ed O lacked character....so just hire another one with no moral compass.

It's WAY worse than Petrino leaving Atlanta.

He should be getting CRUSHED in the media.

An Aggie talking about character is like a Gump talking educational prowess.

Nothing personal, but I would leave the inept falconites If I was the HC.

What a bad football program.

So you be Brian Kelly and your team played its last game and you figure you'll be #5 or #6. In order to get INTO the playoffs, you need a few things to happen... right? Ok State, Cincy, bama and Mr. Khaki Pants all have to lose.

Woodward knocks and says "hey, we want you for our HC job and the deal is 10yrs/$95M."

You ask "scott, can i wait to see if we make the playoffs? And if we do and win... can you wait till after that?"

Woodward's response "take all the time you need, but when i leave, so does the job offer."

SOOOOOOO.... Coach Brian "Blizzard bob"... do you throw away around a $4M per year raise??

LSU would hire Jack the Ripper if they thought he would win games
