How do you feel about Tua?

I'm split. Half of me wants to see him come back and continue his all-pro level. Half of me is hoping he announces his retirement and goes on to become an amazing coach.

At some point these injuries have to become too much. His ankle, hip and back already have major issues and now he's piling on head trauma.

He just seems like such a good guy that I hope his life isn't ruined by football, but he's so damn talented that I want to see him win a super bowl

Some guys just seem to be made of glass.

Hope he makes the best decision for himself.

That sack looked funny to me. Maybe because I watched in slow motion.

But it didn’t look like the Bengal whipped him down as hard as it looked. Almost looked like Tua threw himself back as he was getting sacked.

It was just funny looking.

I didn’t see it that way. Looked to me like the defender got some leverage as the tackle was being made and slung him pretty hard. Not dirty or anything, but there was some force behind it.

What happened to all the improvements they supposedly made on the helmets?

I couldn't watch the game because of family duty, and I've never felt comfortable going back to watch injury replays of players, but was it a missed block? It was a clean hit, or no? Head to head?

To the OP, I like Tua. Every interview I've seen, he seems like a down-to-earth, humble, and likable guy. I really hope he makes a full recovery and he's able to continue playing football if that's what he wants. He's one of the good guys IMO.

Finally, I would be curious to see if the league pushes against these Thursday night games. Not a doctor, but I have a hard time seeing how a person's body can play a game on Sunday, then recover enough to play again on Thursday. That just seems like a bad idea.

Tua was holding the ball to buy time to throw. Defender eventually got there, tackled around the waist, but as he slung him to the ground Tua bent back and his helmet hit the turf.

He could be late career Drew Brees if he stays healthy. The deep ball arm strength is a legit concern and not just a media talking point

It was just pure physics. Tua was trying to move forward and the tackle drove him back and down in the opposite direction in sort of a snapping motion.

He probably had lingering concussion symptoms from his last game and shouldn’t have been out there.

I saw the injury last week and there is no way in hell that he didn't have a concussion then. He staggers and falls down like he can't keep his balance. The dolphins saying it was a back injury is BS.

Didn't look like a dirty play but unfortunately Tua could have probably been more susceptible to an injury like this, given the fact that he just had a concussion.

At some point the coaches have to protect the players from themselves and make them sit. It's one game... but at 3-0, seems like the staff was more focused on staying undefeated.

I feel like you should discuss him on the NFL Board.

Sorry Board police, but discussion about former SEC greats on this board seems appropriate.

He needs to retire. He wasn't "built" to handle what football does to you and he has a life to live after ball. Tua sustained enough injuries in college to probably have called it quits then. He's not the only one, Jim McMahon was that way, Aikman was easily injured. Phil Simms basically didn't play the first 3 or 4 years of his NFL career.
Auburn had a qb named Bobby walden back in the 80's and he just got injury after injury and I think after his sophomore year at Auburn just gave it up.

I hope Tua is ok. Hopefully he can recover from this. I got to meet him in the past and he is a really good person. Top notch. Nothing but good things to say about the guy.

I saw the Miami coach last night and they asked him if they knew anything about a concussion with Tua or anything medically prior to the game. He said they were not aware of anything. No way to know for sure, but just the way he looked and the way he made the statement, I think he was lying his arse off.

At the moment, I just pray for his well-being. That was very sad to watch.

He's a solid talent and great kid on top of that. Wishing him nothing but the very best outcome.

The only reason I never liked Tua is because he went to Bama. Otherwise, his is a really smart, humble, likeable guy who is an amazing QB.

But, as someone who has a family friend whose body was destroyed by the NFL and now walks with a cane in his early 60's, there's a time to admit enough is enough.

Hate it for the guy, but I think yesterday was a sign its over.
