How do people not understand this expansion concept?

It’s not about “oh Texas can’t win in the big12 they won’t win in the SEC” or “OU can’t win a playoff game” it’s about M O N E Y ! It’s plain and simple. Texas and OU could be bottom dwellers in the conference but that wouldn’t change the fact that that add so much money to each member.

People for real don’t understand though. They think it’s about football records only.

I’m waiting for someone to explain exactly how all these millions get added to 14 SEC teams.
Mathematically, Tx and Ok would each have to bring into the conference coffers $70 million MORE than the average take of all the current SEC schools in order to provide a 10m boost for each team.
We already have a good portion of Texas and Ok is a small market. I just don’t see where the $140 million money is supposed to come from.

False. We have the Houston market. We do not have the DFW, San Antonio, Austin and El Paso markets. Let’s not forget that UT is the biggest brand in college athletics. They’ve been #1 for a very long time.
As far as Oklahoma, the state is just under 4 million. Most of which reside in OKC & Tulsa. Plus OU sucks in that DFW market because a majority of their following is there.

$1.3 Billion in 2024-2025 is why you add them
Don't let the Big get them

They think it’s about football records only.
From my perspective, no.

NO WAY!! Seriously, I see people talking & excited about every school getting millions etc....??? Are yaw getting a cut or something? Tickets going down etc...? All the while, Traditions are getting thrown out the window. To appease who, ESPN and several brass in each school? They will be the reals winners here, at the expense of real fans, that pay the bills. No, this isn't good for college football and neither was NIL or Portal.

I have yet to hear anyone on this board refute that it's about money.

Expansion has always been about money. Or at least it has since 1992.

I actually don’t think this is about just money. It’s about power. SEC is taking over the world.
