How did Vandy get so bad?

Wasn’t that long ago they were a consistently competing for an NCAA tourney berth and most years were a tourney team. That gym used to be nightmare for anyone to play at. What happened?

Derek Mason is no Dan McGugin but, he has to have time to implement his program.
Sure, Mason has only won 37 percent of his games over a six year period but, the players are young.
Give Mason a few more seasons to develop his players and things are going to get real, real fast, at Vanderbilt.

We are talking about how Vanderbilt go so bad and I'm saying it's not Mason. It's Vanderbilt and the young players and a coach needing at least ten years to cross the .500 win percentage mark.

Mason just has young players and he needs time to develop the talent. He may be one of the best coaches in the SEC but is just stuck, unfortunately, at Vanderbilt.
I'd take Mason over Ogerons any day of the week; at least Mason can read and write.
