How did Jake Bentley become the scapegoat?

Granted, he's not great, but there are certainly worse QBs out there, including on your own team, as you're bound to find out next Saturday. He has no O-Line, a weak running game, and conservative play calling all going against him.
His own teammates pitch in with trashing him on social media.
The fans blame him for every loss.
He gets "injured" and the UofSC faithful rejoice.
I think he's a clown, but he's your clown. Boom can't even be man enough to tell the truth and just say, hey, we're going in another direction?
Rough way to treat a kid who should still be in high school.

By not being great enough to overcome Muschamps horrible play calling.

You get the feeling he's literally the same QB he was as a freshman despite being a senior now.

No.
He was better at Opelika HS.
That staff ruins QBs, at both UF and UofSC.

He threw the third most picks in the nation last year, and had not one, but two fourth quarter picks on potential game winning drives.
He also sailed what would have been the game winning touchdown into the stands, which is par for the course because his happy arse overthrows a ton of open receivers.
He also hasn't improved in his four years as a starter. Past time for a change.

Moreso Muschamps fault but we can’t get rid of him at the moment so Bentley had to go.
Also why are you here as a CLemson fan?

Why do you care so much?

As a Clemson fan, you have to remember the hype for that kid. That was a big big letdown

I've started this reply and deleted it 3 times now. I guess that's indicative of just flat out not knowing.
The whole damn program seems to be unravelling and some of the issues that have been revealed were very unexpected to us as fans. Idk what really to even say. We have some shitty fans who, unfortunately, have no better restraint or maturity than to attack kids because of a football game. Saying it to each other, discussing and venting among each other, is one thing but I vehemently believe it should never cross the line to attacking a player directly.
Idk where we go from here. If what we've heard is true, a change at QB may be a short term fix but there are much deeper issues that need to be addressed.

I can't help it; you're all comically distraught with that UNC loss.
By the way, UNC is vastly superior as a program than UofSC; you shouldn't take it so hard.

You can’t help it because you are obsessed

CG, being in the SEC is both a blessing and a curse for South Carolina. You get the hype, the glamour and most significantly the MONEY of being an SEC program. The CURSE is that guaranteed bowl and tv money can allow the power brokers at your school to not really have the sense of urgency to win at the highest level because of the money. I believe I read one of your post about the fat-cats just going around enhancing themselves in influence rather than demanding excellence I think there is a lot of truth in that.
It seems being a wealthy SEC school is what the USC power brokers are most happy with and the Gamecock fans are too loyal at will still fill up Willie B rather than send a message...

Thanks to Ray Tanner a metric frickton of that $$ was promised to Will Muschamp if we fire him. Over $20 million to get rid of him iirc. Just unreal that Tanner thought that was fair to the program and a good deal for us. He's a damn idiot and he needs to be the first kicked out on his fat arse.

Sounds like a coaching problem.

It’s the truth. People in power here will always be content with the paycheck and elbow rubs with power players in the state while our blindly loyal fans take pride in filling the stands for a shitty team. Oh well.

With that O-Line, you think a true freshman pocket passer is going to fare better than Jake? Or Joyner, who the coaches don't even trust enough to give a shot?
It's going to be a long season in Columbia.
I can't wait.
