How did Calzada look like Joe Montana last night?

Was bama defense that bad or did he grow up like a man during the game?

Sometimes you play outside of your self. That’s what happened

He was dialed in like crazy.

The Bama defense this year will do that to a QB.

Bama fans seemed to think their defense was real shite in the game threads..
Kind of like when LSU made Bo Nix look like John Elway.

He wasn't dialed in. They were open all night.

It’s an absolute shitty defense but he also played great.

Believe it or not he has improved every week. Even in the MSU loss he was better than he was against Arkansas.

Pass rush not effective. I did not see if that was by offensive design (i.e. get rid of the fricking ball) or just not getting a push.
aTm had two true freshmen on the OL...
Malachi Moore got tossed for a stupid targeting call with 1.5 min gone in the game. And it was legit Bama cheap shot.

Both Arkansas and MSU rushed 3 and got pressure. Bama rushed 5 at times and we picked it up. Our OL looked like a different unit last night.

It happens. Remember Stephen Garcia?

I watched Calzada a few weeks back and thought he was trash. He looked to have such a long delivery and just didn't look good. Last night vs Bama he looked great. Jimbo has always been pretty good with QBs. Seems to be making a great one here.

Calzada did good in the moment but he had enough time to do his job without having to run for his life. You are always going to get some pressures and a sack or two in a game like this.
A good plan to beat Bama has been to make them cover the entire field even if it means little dinks and dunks to RB's. JF did good on the play call to keep them on their heels. Bama loves to creep a safety in and stuff the run so you have to make them play straight up somehow.

Yeah part of Calzadas problems was OL allowing a 3 man rush to bring pressure and he has to find the open man with 8 guys in coverage.
Last night the OL was able to protect and he was not sacked once.

The oline improvement had the most to do with his progress.

He was probably drunk like Garcia

The Ole Miss game was Alabama’s super bowl

We found an OL combination that actually worked (Trainor is NOT a tackle) and he felt more comfortable. And our playmakers were making plays.

Quarterback rooms around the conference are waiting their turn to up their draft stock by playing us. All you have to do is throw a few long balls and get PI calls all the way to the endzone. Our Middle Linebackers are never where they are supposed to be. The only guy you have to worry about is Anderson. Double him and you are an instant heisman candidate
