Praying for your mother, while there's life, there's hope.

I'll take a prayer for patience, please. I'll also take one for my wife to have patience with me.

Baby has walking pneumonia and baby number 2 will be here in June. Put a word in for them, please, also.

Proverbs 16:32
God of Peace, Your word states that it is better to be a patient person than a warrior; it is better to have self-control than to conquer a city.
I pray that I hold my peace and remain patient in all things.
I declare that I will not react out of emotion, instead I will reflect and wait before I act.
Patience is better to have than power, so Lord help me remain patient, Amen.[/quote]

Father, come and watch over DownSouthJukin‘a beautiful child,
Wrap their family in your strength and protection.
Come and minister healing and bring restoration,
Renew this precious one that I they love so dearly.
Come and soothe them, comfort and keep them,
Hold their hearts safely and fill them with peace.
Come and dwell here with us all, reside with us dear Lord.
You are their sanctuary and their living hope.
And comfort their baby who is yet to make this world a better a place.

I think we need to pray for our nation more now than since 9/11. Millions of people are going to be unemployed from months to a year or more.

It's surreal.

I agree.
Lord, hear our prayer.
And thank you for forgiving us all of our sins.

Tell him to keep this beautiful weather rocking while we’re going through this puddle on life’s highway....

Deuteronomy 11:10-15

Heavenly Father, We thank You for the land that we live in, because You have enabled us to possess it.
We pray for good weather in this land,
We declare that we can drink the water from the rain because it comes from heaven.
We thank You for this land because we know that You care about it,
Your eyes are always on it, from the beginning even to the end of the year!
Father, bless us with great weather in the southeast US.
Amen

I hate "going to church" and then once I'm there, I'm glad I'm there

I go once a week, not three times a week like when I was growing up

I'm sure when I'm truly old I'll go more often

Dear Heavenly Father,
You instruct us to give thanks in everything (I Thessalonians 5:18), and as difficult as it is to do that during a time of job loss, please give us the grace to obey.
Let us not become so focused on our circumstances that we neglect Your blessings.
We pray that You would increase our faith and draw us closer to You than ever before during this season. It’s in the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, that I we pray. Amen.

A simple question as I'm not trying to turn this into a religious debate, but if he/she already knows our intent, why do we need to goto church to worship?

Because Scripture tells us to pray.

In his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus was explicit: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). Ask, seek, knock: each is an imperative, not a suggestion. Each is God’s demand of us.

Because prayer changes you

A second reason to pray: time with God changes us.

I used to really like going to mass. But, as I've gotten older, it's started to make less and less sense to me. I still enjoy the stories and discussing it from time to time. I respect people that are into it and do my best not to be disrespectful when I ask about it. I find it fascinating why it makes sense to others, but not to me. What makes us different? Regardless though, I really like these threads where people can just be nice to each other for a change. This is great.

My daughter is staying with her mom during this. I love her more than anything in the world, but I'm not sure we would make it through this much time together. We are both stubborn as hell.

May she find comfort in Your ability, God, to reach her, hold her, and rescue her, (2 Samuel 22:17-18).

In the midst of all this, my Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer two weeks ago. At this point it’s not curable but her oncologist is optimistic she can meet a 10 year+ prognosis with treatment. Just ask that you pray for her at this time that she stays safe in all this. Thanks, EKG.

I hurt for you.
And you’re on my daily prayer list.
May I offer a prayer?

Lord please watch over BluegrassBelle’s mother as she travels through this challenge with breast cancer.

Although, this is a difficult time, we know that Your healing arms are near; and she is in your guiding care.

Grant her the peace of knowing that our belief in You will help her to be strong and face each day with new strength and encouragement.

Dear Lord, watch over and bless our friend, BluegrassBelle, and her family.
We share their fears and concerns.
I pray that they will trust in You.
Help to bring us closer together and bring us to You, Father.

Amen.
