Select the top 2 teams (one of them is gonna probably win it anyway), then pick 4 other teams who'll play each other to get to the four team playoff system we have now?

Do you not want more college football to watch??

There’s a reason no other major sports only allow the top 4 teams from the regular season into the postseason. And those are sports with far less teams than there are in CFB
CFB will never have anything close to parity until recruiting is regulated harder though

I’m ok with the current system, Coach.
But I’ve been saying your six team format is excellent.
No need for anymore teams.

You will be getting less college football to watch, not more. This will be replacing the bowl games.

Please tell me WHY any other school can't achieve the same thing if they want to put the time, money and effort into it? Hell!...Alabama, Ohio St., Clemson, Georgia and other schools have...what's stopping your school?

I'm just trying to appease some of these cry babies whose school won't step up!

Wonder what the MLB world series would look like if they relied on journalism to pick their champion.

What are the chances of a real break between #'s 2 & 3?
Hell, people already argue over #'s 4 & 5!

Georgia
In all seriousness, I think he means money.
Everyone with a brain knows that Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma etc., etc, are paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for recruits.
The NCAA doesn't want to punish any of them because those punishments include TV bans, which would lead to smaller TV deals, which would lead to less money for the schools, conferences, and NCAA.
I guarantee you if you gave me a month, with the resources the NCAA has, i could identify 50 players in the country who've received illegal benefits, and that's being EXTREMELY conservative in the amount of players.
People give Alabama shite for the chargers and challengers, but when i was at LSU, I lived in the same apartment complex where all the athletes lived. 90% of them had brand new cars, and some players even drove up to 5 cars in an academic year. It's ridiculously obvious and they're not even trying to hide it.

Because every school that recruits at an exceptional level, including LSU, gives these kids more than just scholarships to come to school

Are you trying to say that elite colleges aren't paying players?
Those schools (mine included) win titles and put players in the league BECAUSE they first laid the groundwork by paying the recruits. When spend the most on players, you get the best players. When you get the best players, you get the best coaches. When you combine the best coaches and the best players, you get championships.

quote:I'm not saying ANYTHING about any school paying players. If they are then the ability to go into the NFL at Alabama (especially in the 1st round) is probably the deciding factor. If they're NOT, then the same applies...again, it's not complicated.

4, 6, 8 or 12 in the end it will be one of these three most years. Bama, Clemson, tOSU. At least with the current bowl system some top 12 teams end the year with a victory. The one year Bama didn't make it, I was relieved. Got to go to a bowl, whip a yankee media darling and carry momentum into the next year. That was much better than limping into a playoff we didn't belong in and getting clobbered. That is what will happen to all but one team in the new playoff format.

The #4 seed has won the title as many times as the #1 seed has. #1 vs #2 had only happened 3 of the 7 title games.
#1 seed has never beaten a #2 seed.
