I know you don't really know the answer to this but do you expect this year's offense to look like the offenses Coach Kelly ran at ND, what Denbrok ran at Cincinnati, or something different?
Also, do you think the offense will depend somewhat on who the QB is or will the QB choice determine the offense? Just really don't know what to expect from you guys on that side of the ball this year.

Offense shouldn’t change due to the QB because it’s a pass first/RPO style regardless. Both QBs have wheels but obviously Daniels can take it past the second level.

I expect a conservative offense that is a mix between the ND Cincy offense. Brian Kelly is an offensive guy, so i assume he he liked what he saw in Denbrocks offense and probably had some ideas to tweak it. The Jayden Daniels get was strange, and then the QB battle went very differently than i expected. But it fits the narrative that BK wants to replicate the Cincy offense.

Expect it to be the same, but the unknown quantity is that he will have multiple NFL receivers on his roster every year, whereas that happened only occasionally at Notre Dame.

I hope they stretch the field more than they usually did at Notre Dame.
My only hang up on Brian Kelly was the style of offense Notre Dame usually ran and the lack of explosive skill players, some blame that on different things, I guess we will see if he's able to change that at LSU.

With our lack of depth, I don't expect us to do anything in a hurry on offense. I think we will throw the ball a lot, but we will not be in hurry up offense.

Thanks for the replies. What do you think about your O line? Huge issue for us if ours doesn't get better.

I think Kelly has shown when he has talent at WR (such as Claypool), his offense will take some shots down the field.

Just listening to pressers, I think Denbrock has green light to do whatever he wants.
Big positive is WR. We have better players at WR than either Denbrock or Kelly has ever had.
TE might be surprisingly decent this year. Both of our Taylors seem to have taken off-season improvement seriously.
How effective the center will be is still in question. How effective Daniels will be passing the ball is still in question. How good we are at those 2 spots is the difference between 7 wins and 9 wins, IMO.

If Boutte stays healthy he will take those shots…

Huge concern at center, where they are trying to convert a guy who has never played there. Freshman starting at left tackle. Very talented but still just a freshman.

We'll see more two TE sets than we're used to in the last few years. That's all I got.

We know that they're running almost exclusively shotgun and from the scrimmage report it sounds like a lot of bubble screens.

Given the fact that our OL is challenging our DL in practice seems like they've taken a step in the right direction. Everyone just needs to gel and work in unison.

I think it's proven the more stress you can put on a defense these days the better off you will be if you want to win championships - sec or natty.
And you still have to have a quality running game to have the kind of offense LSU had in 19 and Bama had in 20
I think part of Bama's issues last year was the lack of their normal running game, they struggled when they had to run.
LSU has to get back to controlling line of scrimmage and establishing the run which will make any spread/RPO offense that much more lethal.
Until I see them do it, I have concerns about the running backs on the roster. The WR's are legit and I think the LSU oline is going to surprise some people. Still concerned about TE as much as Kelly likes to use them but Mason Taylor is getting raves for a true fr, this where losing someone like Arik Gilbert (if he can ever get his act together) really hurt as he would be a junior on this LSU team.
Campbell is the next great LT in the mold of Whitworth. He plays with a mean streak and his physicality for a true fr is impressive. He did get the benefit of enrolling early and got in the weight room.
I'm also excited to see what Anthony Bradford can do since he was never motivated with the previous staff.
Overall the line play will be much better for LSU and that has been a trademark and where it all starts for Kelly coached teams.

We are starting a true freshman at LT and a Center who has bever played center and all 5 starters are new.
We have a lot of talented linemen, but they are young for the most part. We do have a good O line coach and we have some great ones coming in next year also

I think that it will honestly take a full season to see what is to be expected from our offense. I do expect a large jump from game 1 to game 2. I think the coaching staff and the players all being new to each other will be a factor. Cohesion within different groups and players overall has been talked about, but cohesion within the coaching staff has been overlooked. Mid game adjustments, audibles, formations/player groups based on down and distance. These are things that new staffs struggle with. When you throw in 40 new players on a roster and 33 that have been there before. Thats a lot of moving parts to get on the same page.

Idont know. I do know that with a real coaching staff, we may have a plan. I expect alot of quick passes, trying to help out an unproven line...if we take shots I hope we dont rely on the sideline stuff ala Miles. I hope we trust our guys to go deep over the middle as the season progresses.

What we’ve seen in camp is a lot of zone read wide open stuff like we’ve run the last 3 years and what Denbrock ran at Cincy.
I’d expect more of that if Daniels starts.
