He is owed 50% of 21 million within 30 days.

Probably more relieved than anything

He probably sleeps better tonight than any of us will

Hell, for 21 million I’ll be whatever you need me to be.

When is Daniel Moore making a Gus themed portrait entitled "The Last Dance"

And, he is away from Bo Nix

Sure. Any competitor would be sad. His teams loved him and he's got a lot of good memories at Auburn. Anyone would be sad.
$21M will certainly help.

Sure he is. Nobody wants to be fired.

I'm stressed as frick at work, and would almost welcome a severance package on my $100k salary...dude just got $21 mil to go away. He good.

No one wants to be fired, but he'll soon find another job.
He can be really innovative in his offense, but he's stubborn and needs a new place. I expect him to land something soon enough to make him happy again.
meanwhile he's sitting pretty on paychecks

I’m sure he is. These coaches get in this business initially to help kids out. There’s no doubt he’s upset he won’t be around them anymore. Either way he was getting 21 mil from auburn. Wether today or over the next 3 years from his contract. We just decided it was better to do it today

Yes, but he’ll be back in the P5 HC biz in a few years while collecting sweet bucks from Auburn. I’d say 50% chance he’s a HC in the SEC in 3-4 years.

Lol. That was my thought. Middle class income families living reasonably well on 100k a year.
Gus has his kids out of the house and through school. Living and empty nest life with house certainly paid off. Assuming no other assets and not a dime to be drawn from investments or other interest bearing accts, he could live a very good life on 210000 a year for the next 100 years.
That is a lot of all star specials at waffle house.
Why would he even want to get back into coaching. Enjoy life. Hell, he may have been dancing after finding out it was over, and he was walking away with 21 million

Yep. frick football, I'm fishing.

I was fired from a job once and I wasn't one bit sad.
and, I didn't get a dime for it.
21 million and get to move out of Auburn? There isn't a human on this planet who would be.

I would love to have his contract at my job.
I would hope to be fired.
To get all the money in spite of results.

(1) Between taxes and Jimmy Sexton's cut, he'll never see a large chunk of that payout. Still, it'll be orders of magnitude larger than any severance package anyone here will ever see.
(2) Any real competitor will never want to be fired.
(3) If you're in coaching for the money, you've already lost.
