Please know that what's about to happen is strictly business and nothing personal.

I think he meant us beating Tennessee and taking their head coach (who knows)

But I’m sure if LSU thought DVH was up for grabs he would be in the mix, he’s a great coach

We wish Mike Bianco all the luck in the world at LSU once Arizona beats us in 2 games.

Ahhh. I have seen Bianco and Corbin's names brought up too so I just assumed.

DVH would definitely get the LSU program back towards the top. It's a good feeling that we don't to worry, though. Hate the feeling that you might get poached.

I named no names as all coaches are in play.

All of them.

DVH is never and will never be in play for anyone.

Living in Baton Rouge is gonna be a big no for a lot of people. You have a historic program, but I would say thanks, but no thanks if I were in those shoes.

First off, for a lot of people the kind of money along with the status that an LSU baseball coach gets is enough by itself. I mean even McDonnell said if we called he would have to listen.

Secondly, with that kind of money there are places to live in Baton Rouge that are really quite nice, and the food is outstanding and most of the people are pretty great. People really oversell how much of a negative Baton Rouge is, especially with money

I don't disagree with any of this... BUT DVH isn't walking through that door. And several other don't want the hot box of LSU Baseball that Skip built.

Why, when they can make as much/almost anyways at a program with much less stress.

You don't have to be at LSU to win a Championship. You know this. Plus there is more prestige to win elsewhere perhaps. It isn't the quote "LSU History" winning. etc.

Baton Rouge is bad and taking on water. If I was a baseball coach with options I would pass.

I have never once said we would get DVH in fact earlier in this same thread I said he was off the table

I think there’s 2 types of coaches, the kind that would focus on the stress of coaching at a program with such a history, and the kind that would focus on the opportunity to make their own mark on one of the greatest college baseball programs.

It might be more impressive to win at a place with less prestige, I don’t know if that necessarily means that winning there is more prestigious

I disagree with it. You can’t treat your coach like shite and say he has great status as the head coach of LSU baseball. People are on social media and see what goes on. Mainieri has been a joke around red stick for several years now. LSU fans were ready to run him out of town way back when the rally possum happened in 2017.

We were most definitely not ready to run him out of town the year we were national runners up

You have a short memory. I said until the rally possum.

Check that it was 2018. My bad

Was the rally possum really only 2018? That feels like forever ago lol

Regardless, yes there were some vocal fans calling for Mainieri to be fired during that time. I don’t frequent any Florida sports boards, but I’m sure people were none too pleased with O’Sullivan for this year’s performance and certainly this years regional performance. Regardless, the majority of fans didn’t want him gone, even in 2018.

The point being that a coach at a school with a lot of history has to be someone who understands the expectations of being a coach at that program, in the same way that the Alabama coach after Nick Saban will be expected to win championships

I'm not sold on ours. Y'all can talk to him if you like but you have to take Cohen as Assistant AD.
