Everybody talks about history and championships. Here's something for you
Princeton has 27 national championships in football. Yale has 26 national championships in football
Alabama has 17 national championship
Does that mean Princeton and Yale is a better program than Alabama?

You’re right. National champs don’t matter.

That’s what you’re arguing right?

Exactly. No one ever talks about the spirit of competition. Of sportsmanship. Or how sports are really just all about having fun in the end.

And for that, Mississippi State will always be champions in my book.

Depends. When was Princeton's last national championship? When was Yale's? When was the last time either of those teams beat a P5 team? When was the last time they beat a ranked P5 team?

History matters, absolutely, but what Bama has that those don't is CONSISTENCY. Bama has won at least one natty in multiple decades. '20s, '30, '40s, '60s, '70s, '90s, '00s, '10s.

No. How do you compare programs? Is it just championships or consistency , head-to-head or what? By the championship logic, yes they are a better program. What does it mean today? Nothing

If Princeton has 27 and MSU has 0 does that mean Princeton is 27 time better than MSU?

I have no idea what your point is, and I'm confident that you don't either.

Before the BCS, was there a championship game? For years, it was just a matter of an opinion. AP had their champion, USA today had their champion and so on but there wasn't a championship game.

And neither since 1955 when the Ivy League was formed. Context, man. Context.

Yale won 26 of thei 27 claimed titles between 1872 and 1909.

Right. It's in runs. Miami had a run in the 90s and really haven't been back since. Florida had a run in the 90s and during the Tebow era and haven't been back since.

27 divided by 0 equals 0. Princeton and MSU are equal thus MSU is a top three program in all of football. Methmatics....lurn it.

What an idiotic statement...of course not.

If Princeton had 27 championships and MSU had 1, then Princeton would be 27 times better than MSU. As it stands, Princeton is infinitely better.
