Personally,

I’ve given it some thought (not a ton, but some), and I’m trying really hard not to be a product of the very recent past, but I’m going to go with Georgia.

Since ‘33 they have the same total number of wins, more bowl appearances and wins, and will likely surpass them in conference wins this season (1 game behind). Tennessee has 13 SEC titles to UGA’s 12, but I see UGA getting to 14 before Tennessee.

Now, this is just my opinion. Don’t get all flustered like I’ve realized extremely quickly a select few on this board apparently likes to get.

Take a deep breath and let’s discuss who and why.

Probably MSU. What Dan Mullen and Dak Prescott accomplished is 2nd to only Nick Saban

3rd worst winning percentage among active members in both overall record and SEC record. Interesting selection.

42, 46, 48, 59, 66, 68, 76, 80, 81, 82, 02, 05, 17

Depends on what decade you start

Traditionally it would be Tennessee

Georgia has had a good program, but nowhere near a great program. Tennessee had slid down to Georgia's level, Georgia has not risen.

Florida needs consideration as second based on what they have done for the last 25 years.......

This is not true.

At the end of 1979 UT ranked 11th in winning percentage, UGA 27th. UT had 8 SEC Championships as did UGA.

At the end of 2017 UT ranks 11th in winning percentage and UGA ranks 12th. UT has 13 SEC Championships and another NC. And so does UGA.

UGA upped its game in last 4 decades. UT overall remained about the same.

Well, at the end of 1979 these teams were above Georgia as well in the win %

Yale, Princeton, Harvard, Miami-Ohio, Army, Dartmouth, Central Michigan, Minnesota, Arizona State, Stanford

So I will stick with my original statement, although other teams slid as well to help Georgia close the gap.

You really believe Tennessee has been as good as Georgia the last 20 years?

UGAs winning percentage improving has nothing to do with other teams sliding.

UT as of today is 67.7%
UGA is 65.5%

UT at end of 79 was 68.53%
UGA was 61.3%

While UT is slightly worse, UGA has improved considerably. As have a number of other SEC schools specifically AU, UF..our main rivals.

The SEC overall is more competitive than it was in its first 4 decades. UGA/AU/UF along with the 3 older powers in Bama/LSU/UT are a lot of the reason.

Historically,

I don't understand why people believe history started 20 years ago. Historically, Tennessee is 2nd easily. They have really slid the last 20 years, but historically? They are 2nd to Alabama all around.

This guy could easily turn-out to be the worst alter in history on the SECr, bar none. He's jumped-out with a particularly shitty shite-posting style rivaled by few others in SECr history.

Easily? Same number of SEC titles. Less than a percentage point difference in winning percent. Less bowls. 1 NC in forever.

We could easily eclipse them in every statistical category after this year.

Where were they % wise at the end of Fulmer's last year (2008)? 2008 - 2017 is the worst 10 seasons in the history of UT football.
