UAB had Gene Bartow and Harry "The Hat" Walker. Both coaches were as good as it gets.

All this is correct, even though it's hard to tell how much of his behavior was just his attempt to try to claim a piece of the Alabama sport culture for UAB.

I would guess most of it. Referring to BAMA as UAT was mostly a rebuttal.

UAB being historically governed by the University of Alabama's BOT and Chancellor. Might make you somewhat paranoid.
