What I mean by this is does anyone know of many quarterbacks who were not great passers initially but became serviceable to good?

The most recent example to me at least is Joe borough I did not think he was very good last year but he is absolutely incredible this year I don’t know if that’s because his supporting cast is better or he just improved that much as a past The most recent example to me at least is Joe Borough I did not think he was very good last year but he is absolutely incredible this year I don’t know if that’s because his supporting cast is better or he just improved that much as a passer.

Reason I am asking this is because John Rhys Plumley Is not a very good passer but he can run I’m curious if it’s possible for him to become a better passer I just want statistical evidence from other quarterbacks or historical stuff to back this up just throw out some names and I’ll look them up if they exist.

I guess Tebow was not a great pastor but he could run .

Why did you spell “Tebow” like that?

Jake Coker progressed from bad to decent to pretty solid over the course of the 2015 season

This is going back a ways, maybe before your time, but Walter Lewis at Alabama is a good example. Brought in by Bryant to run the wishbone but ran a pro style system in his senior year. Did pretty good. I think he was better in the pro style system than the wishbone. If it weren’t for the theory of black qbs don’t work, Lewis woulda been a good nfl player. Was ahead of his time. As was Tony Robinson for Tennessee, but he was more of a pocket passer. No telling what these two guys could do in these modern offenses.

Sims was literally a runningback who was not even considered a legit backup, then in 2014 was one of the nation's top passers and won SEC OPOY

Jay Barker. Look at his stat line from the Jan 93 Sugar Bowl. Yet he was a Heisman finalist in 94.

Blake Sims was a running back turned qb. Kiffin did amazing things with him, considering.

Brandon Allen is the first Hog that comes to mind.

First year he completed 42.9% of his passes.
His senior year he completed 66% of his passes and broke the school all time record for career TD passes.

Jason Campbell got better every year. Not sure if that’s a great example or not. He also had an all time great running back group and oline.

No. His big jump from junior to senior year was under Enos.

Lamar Jackson is good one. Always had the talent with his feet but improved a lot throwing in his last year at Louisville.

Y'all had a boy named Bo Wallace. We had one named Jamal Adams. Bo was throwing pretty good passes so Jamal started jawing at him. Jamal got Bo wound up tighter than a $2 watch and Bo assaulted Jamal, getting a 15 yd. penalty.

Bo was on tilt and forgot how to throw the ball. It was like he was seeing a football for the first time. LSU wins.

So I guess the answer is yes because they taught Bo how to throw it again.

Hell, AJ. In 2011 he was a pure game manager for mostly ground and pound. In 2012 he led a balanced offense with great efficient passing. By 2013 it was a pass heavy offense, he led the nation in efficiency and numerous other stats for most of the year, and would've won the Heisman if not for Kick Six

He’s a good example, too. Jay Barker as well.
