Kansas tried this out with David Beaty. It brought them a 6-42 record over 4 years.

I’m not aware of anybody else who’s tried this out.

We tried and failed with a guy that "loved" the school. Don't know if this applies to other school's situations.

And Oklahoma.

Edit: Nevermind. He was already OC and not just QB coach under Stoops.

Pittman has already brought in Odom as DC,he's waiting for his OC.

His recruiting is outstanding.

I think he'll do fine.

Oh, so since one guy failed no one should ever hire a position coach again.

Urban Meyer went from WR to coach to head coach.

Pittman has been Associate Head Coach at Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, North Carolina, Arkansas, and Georgia.

If Sam brings in the players and coaches he'll be successful.

It's better than what we just fired who brought in their staff of high school coaches plus an ineffective DC.Chavis was the biggest disappointment, that defense was horrible.

But the lack of offense didn't help at all.

I'd rather have Pittman than another gus boy.
