it would be nice if they actually broke it out in "public" dollars not the added sponsor monies to contract. ie saban really only makes about 300k from bama direct

I can only conclude from this graphic that schools are overpaying their deans and presidents...

You are the king of germans, and possibly the worst poster on the site. And for that, I hate you.

People love to get "outraged" by this.
But as Forbes pointed out, Saban's salary at Alabama can be considered very modest.
He's single handidly responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue UA would otherwise not be getting.
His salary is a drop in the bucket.

I imagine that these salaries are mostly calculate incorrectly by whoever put this together also.
I know that Les Miles is not the highest paid state employee in Louisiana. John Chavis is. Miles (and likely every other head coach) doesn't actually get that large a salary from the state. The big money comes from booster club $, media deals (coaches shows, etc), and other avenues that treated as total compensation, but that the state is not on the hook for.
Assistant coaches aren't treated the same way.

When Florida releases its lists of highest employees UF coaches aren't on it, for the same reasons as others have pointed out. Their salaries are almost exclusively paid for by private funds.

This. Haven't seen the number breakdown for Freeze but Mississippi only paid for $250k of Nutt's contract. Willing to bet Merlin's is the same.

As Germans as this is, and as potentially incorrect as the figures are...I'd be willing to bet/really hope there aren't a whole ton of people on the state government payroll making more than the state's portion of any coach's salary.
A $300,000 salary for the coach has got to be in the top five most highly paid employees in the majority of states.
Hell, the governor of Louisiana can't be making more than $150,000/year, if that.
