Yea we know you just got absolutely skullfricked by WVU, but tell us what you took away from the game minus the scoreboard (40-14). What units played well, bad. Who are the stars that showed up. Who is not living up to potential. Just anything to let us know more about your team. Cant wait for TSIO!

Offensive line was a huge mess especially in 1st half. QB play was improved. RB did decent. Defense fell apart in 2nd half. Luckily the run D wasn't historically bad, but Grier lit us up through the air. Overall, not good, and simply outmatched.

We lack firepower and talent

I'm fired up for HOOPS

You could say West Virginia came down on Tennessee like a pile of bricks.

Anyone who didn't know UT would have a weak O-line just wasn't being realistic. You can't try and duck tape one of those together right before the season.

JG is a QB to be admired. The kid has grit and has taken a lot of shots in his tenure at UT. The kid should seriously consider transferring if he wants to stay healthy and have a shot at the NFL.

Jordan's a baller at RB. The kid's not scared of big boy tackle football. The holes he had Sat are ones that he created. He took some shots that he shouldn't have to, and he'll see a lot more of that shortly. UT better get some RBs healthy fast.

The D downlinemen are adequate to start, but thin on reserves. That makes them ineffective as a group. Same with the LBs. Look at how many points WV scored in the second half. Pruitt knew that was coming.

UT's secondary is made up of kids. WV exposed them, the SEC is going to abuse them. UT will give up more points this season than last.

A storm's abrewing in K'ville starting 9/22. And it will have few let-ups through 11/24. CJP will look back at this being the hardest season of his coaching profession. At least I think he will. It all depends on next season.

Two man issues: D line has no ability to get to the passer and the secondary is horrendous. An absolutely horrific combo which will lead to a long season.

I think we will be close to average offensively across the board. LBs could be serviceable.

6-6 still stand by it.

ETSU
UTEP
FL
UK
Charlotte
VU (closest win since it’s there NC of the year)

USCe will be closer than the rest of our losses.

Lose big by Auburn.

Hammered by UGA and Bama.

Not trying to kick a program when it’s down. Well, maybe I am after all that 8-0 shite back in the 90s. But the UT team I saw Sat will not beat both UF and UK. You’ll lose one or both unless Pruitt somehow channels Saban or Spurrier.

I see 4 wins again for UT this season. And I think getting 4 will be a struggle. We’ll see Sat.

Game was a shite show as you all know. Hoping game 1 got some of the kinks out. Some areas will improve thoughout the year others will be meh, until they are fixed though recruiting.

Basically West Virginia’s passing game was such an advantage nothing else really mattered. I think ww showed some things offensively and even against the run to have hope. West Virginia may have been the worst team in the country for us to play week 1.

I feel like our first offensive line will improve more from week 1 to week 10 than anyone in the country. True freshman OL Jerome Carvin is a future NFL starting linemen. Trey Smith is trey smith and the other starters are solid.

I’m not super worried about this team, I honestly feel like the confidence of the team is shot right now. But if we can play an Auburn, Georgia, etc close and the team realizes they aren’t as bad as everyone thinks, then the team will really start to take off.

Watching WG pick apart those freshman CBs was almost cringe worthy.

I can definitely agree with this. South Carolina-Tennessee games have always seemed to be competitive lately. Regardless of how well each team is doing.

Many of the points have already been hit, but I'll throw all mine out there.

Skill positions on offense are slightly above average. Guarantano hit 76% despite battling for his life back there and Tim Jordan had an outstanding day despite having no true holes opened for him.

The OLine is bad, no doubt. They will improve as they work more together as a unit, but will still be sub-par for SEC play all year.

A poor showing on the d line and even worse in the secondary. Much of that goes to the high power ability of WVU, but this will hit hard again in several games, most notably UGA, Auburn, Bama, Mizzou and USC.

I agree with the assessment that UF and UK are the best chances to win SEC games. They have below average QB's that will allow the Vols to hang around and win. Not saying they will, but stand a puncher's chance in those games. They don't in the other SEC games.

I expected shite offense and decent defense. It turned out we have decent offense and shite defense. WVU QB is a Heisman candidate though. Our talent on defense is abysmal.
