I may spell his name wrong but does Charles Hannigriff still call any sports for LSU? I always liked that guy and believe he once had his own radio show?

He got shafted in the fact that he didn’t get then announcing gig after Hawthorne retired.

Interesting. I liked him but no idea how Lsu fans felt. He was very level headed and called it like he saw it.

I remember Jimmy Ott. That seems like a good combo. I have family in Louisiana.

Hanny is the best.
Should have gotten the Play by Play job. Can't believe they hired somebody with 0 Louisiana ties. really sucks. He has no passion...There's No..We got screwed emotion..We mentality..it's not his fault, he's been an LSU for 3 years, not 30.

His show comes on 1045 ESPN 11am CT Mon-Fri

talks a lot of SEC in general on the weekday radio show, check it out

Jack Cristil, Munson, jim Hawthorne...when you heard the voice...you knew it was a certain team...that was a great generation

He may have gotten it if he could get through a sentence without saying "uh."

He was always kinda low key and nobody is gonna fill Jim Hawthorne’s shoes but he still would have been my pick. He won’t ever give that excitement that Hawthorne could deliver but to me it’s about those who are true fans and pull for the team they grew up covering.

So who is this guy you hired anyway? And where did he come from?

He came from GA Southern. He grew up in the radio business, started at the complete bottom in KY or SC, then to Ga Southern. He does a good job...just not the same emotion calling games. Chris Blair

He’s not invested in LSU. Should have gone with Charles or even Jimmy Ott. Just my opinion. (lol, while Richard Condon was funny as hell, you could have done worse hiring him to do play-by-play).

Condon is hilarious but he would get suspended every 5-7 games probably.

Lmao. I won’t lie, I used to love listening to him when in Louisiana, guy was funny as hell and yes, a loose cannon describes him perfectly lol. Oh man, you guys were spoiled with the greatest local radio shows. That’s the truth!

My cousin told me a story about Condon getting locals involved to get lights put up for Southern so they could play night games. He lined up volunteers from electricians to heavy equipment etc and got lights delivered to Southern, He told me years later Condon had a meltdown on the radio when he found out Southern just left the light polls on the ground to get rusted and never did anything with them. And I think it was all donated. Is that true?

Charles was very good as the color guy on the baseball broadcasts. He has a good show daily about LSU sports.

I remember Hannigriff and Ott from back in the 90's; they were both on local talk radio here in BR.

Hanny's great, a relaxed and calm voice and very knowledgeable about sports.

I remember having a long conversation with him after 9/11. It was right after they cancelled all the sporting events (rightfully so), and I called his show.

We talked about stuff- it would have been LSU vs Auburn, and I said I understood the need for postponing the games, but that very selfishly, I wanted the game to play because I wanted to escape from the tragedies, and for the US to say frick you, you can't change our way of life. We both agreed that it would have been a fantastic event to have, but just wasn't the right time.

I'm always going to respect him after that talk.
