Why the frick does it always have to be this way
Why Texas’ hiring of Steve Sarkisian should depress every Black coaching candidate
Bonus:
Why Texas’ hiring of Steve Sarkisian should depress every Black coaching candidate
quote:
There are 11 Black head coaches, 8.46 percent, in the FBS’ 130 schools. That figure does not include the three who were fired this season: Lovie Smith at Illinois, Derek Mason at Vanderbilt and Kevin Sumlin at Arizona.
And this where the math does not add: More than 54 percent of the football players in FBS are Black.
The goal is hire the best candidate, and if Del Conte felt that was the case it’s his decision. He knows this hire is his job.
At some point, however, the continued imbalance of Black players to Black head coaches is not a coincidence.
I have no idea how to fix this, but the goal should that if America’s population is 13 percent African American, FBS head coaches should at least look like that.
Because History says that if a Black coach had Sarkisian’s track record he would not be given this type of a second chance.

Pete Golding is black. Someone should give the man a shot.

Equal opportunity...there are many black assistants and head coaches who don't get the same chance as others. Yes race matters, we fill out job applications that ask you your race, when you go to the doctor. Race is something that will be brought up all the time in America.

Why is it always the color of coaches being debated and not the discrepancy with the color of players?

Isn't Sumlin a pretty notorious drunk?

Yeah, why does the white drunk have a job and the black drunk doesn’t?

Best coach/player should get the job. Race shoudnt fricking matter. I don't give a shite about percentages. I know people that told me Alabama should've hired Croom over Saban(at the time of the hire, not now).
frick skin color. We all bleed same gotdamn color and we all have a date with death some day regardless of skin color. Wish people would stop fricking looking for shite to race bait about and just applaud those that get jobs because they're the best candidate.
Overdramatic fricks

So school administrations are so racist that they hire a white coach while a more qualified black coach is passed over? Who honestly believes this is what takes place? I believe that a lot of times a less qualified black coach is given the job just to appease the race baiters. Do I need to name names?

The white drunk is coaching in the national championship game in 24 hours, coached three Heisman finalists including the winner, and won the Broyles Award as the best assistant coach in the country.
The black drunk went 9-20 in his last coaching job, including losing 70-7 to his in-state rival this year, and was rightly fired.

This is the kind of thing people say when they have an indefensible stance on something and no facts to back any of it up.

By that logic, 75% or so of the players should be white. It’s amazing sometimes that people can’t see the hypocrisy of their own arguments.

What percent are “African American” men?

Looks like they’re over-represented to me.
Time to make some changes for the sake of proportionality.

Guess half of football coaches and players have to be women too.

People that go on these ridiculous rants think that they want equality, but they rarely seem to put any real thought into what true equality actually means.

Word is the white drunk has taken steps to no longer be a drunk white or otherwise. Maybe you should respect that. I have no info on whether or not the other gent still has that problem.
