There is no way that a coach in the playoffs is leaving for another job unless it’s from a G5 school.
The school trying to hire them can’t afford to wait until January to hire a new coach

I think most of the logical UF fans and people actually plugged in are already shifting from Kiffin to other options.
Nah, logical fans will keep pushing for Kiffin but understand when you’re shopping coaches you don’t always get what you want.
UF athletic department has been hiring a steady stream of dorks (McElwain, Mullen) or slack-jawed idiots from Northern Georgia (Muschamp, Napier) for football coach. Drinkwitz was built in a lab as the perfect UAA hire. We all know that is the kind of guy they’ll go for. If they hire him while we expect Kiffin, everyone will go ballistic. Therefore logically we have to demand Kiffin to avoid a Drinkwitz-like hire.
It may not result in the coach we want, but it will prevent the type of coach we don’t want.

Doesn't he have like a 37 mil buyout ? If true no one would hire him.
If he is fired, it's only around $4-$5 million if he leaves. I think Kirby's is only around $8.
Sexton is not letting us slap a high buyout on him.

How much though for another team to buy out his contract to hire him ?

The $4-5 range and I may be high there. These coaches do not have high buyouts if they leave. Nobody is paying $30 million to buy him out of coaching then pay him on top of that.

Do you have some proof he has been offered?

Exactly what I was saying!

Thanks. Lower than I thought it would be.
My next life I want to be a college head coach and get fired after 2 years.

No. You are just too stupid to understand that you can't prove a negative.

No, try and follow — what I’m saying is you clowns will pretend he never turned you down.
Schools always “save face” by acting like they never offered unless they're sure the coach is saying yes. That’s how the game works.
Saban was “never offered,” even after LSU basically tried to throw a decade of OLOL money at him. Kiffin will turn you down too, and y’all will magically decide he was never a target. Then you’ll pivot to Dan Mullen and claim he was the No. 1 choice from the jump.
I’m calling it now: all of you who’ve made 100 threads about Kiffin being your next coach will suddenly swear he was never contacted when he says no.

Here was BK's original I found
If Brian Kelly had left LSU before the most recent firing, his buyout was $4 million before Dec. 31, 2022, decreasing to $3 million in 2023 and $2 million in 2024.

It isn't "pretending" when there is no evidence of it having happened. That's how proof works, dolt. Prove that it happened and we will eat crow.

Interesting. Shouldn't have been more than 50 cents. I'm really surprised the figures are so low.

He wasn’t. Sexton is doing the same thing he always does. This was a non starter from the beginning.

You’re talking like there would ever be public proof of a major college offering a coach and getting turned down. That’s not how this works. You just don’t seem to understand the process — which is exactly why the thread title fits: “Here comes the ‘we never offered him anyway’ spin.”
If whoever is running your search didn’t already tell Sexton, “Whatever Lane wants, we’ll make it work,” then they aren’t worth their salt.
So yeah — we’re right back to the classic breakup line:
“I didn’t get dumped, I dumped you first.”

Dear God y'all are some insecure little bow tie wearing figs. I wish he'd go ahead and sign his extension so y'all would shut up about it.
