I'm hearing that it has to do with his Swagga. Rumor is that he has so much natural swagga that Saban fears that just his presence on the field will draw a celebration penalty as the refs will think he is trying to draw attention to himself.
Alabama is having to send two years worth of tape to the SEC officials office to show them that that is just how he rolls in his everyday life.
They are talking of implementing a "no Swagga" rule and if that passes Dre is gone.

Supposedly a NCAA violation. The NCAA said Dre and his swagga count for 2 scholarships, which puts Bama over the 85 limit.
ETA: Scoop's hearing the same. Hopefully this issue will be resolved before the season starts.
