Dixie Chicken is the famous one. Personally I would recommend Rosas Cafe as well.

There is nothing good about college station, don’t know where you heard that... but there is a strip of bars by campus that helps it become more tolerable... but take a pedicab to stadium because the campus is as big as a lot of cities

Don't tell anyone you'd like to eat at a hole in the wall, you would end up in a place of gross perversion and seedy characters. While you're at it don't take any suggestions on where to get a tossed salad

Stay in Northgate. Like a poster said, Dixie Chicken is cool. Rough Draught is a cool whiskey bar. Freebirds has the best burritos—lived off of those when LSU played there in 2012.

I'm sure I've said this about every SEC town, but after visiting CS a handful of towns, I can only describe it as a worse Starkville.

Seriously, you'll get the one or two suggestions that are the only options. It's terrible.

Don't think it was meant to be anything more than a word of advice

Koppe Bridge Bar and Grille on Wellborn Rd is an old personal favorite.

Northgate has the Dixie Chicken and some other fun spots.

You don't go to the Dixie Chicken to EAT.

Most of the amenities are common to most medium sized cities.

If you are strictly looking for local flavor, go with Freebirds, Cafe Excel or the Chicken Oil Company.

Lived in College Station for a couple of years. I would kill to have some J Cody's again.

I've hidden my ring in only a place an Aggie could find.

There are a million options, so it’s hard to narrow down the advice. Really depends on what you’re looking for.

I like Lupe tortillas for fajitas. A Coopers BBQ just opened. I like Fuegos for a taco, but Freebirds is a good burrito, too. Koppe Bridge has a good burger. There’s some cool locally owned stuff in Bryan, like Sodelaks and Fargo’s.

Personally, I love College Station. It gets a lot of hate but Dixie Chicken is awesome on a gameday and the atmosphere, people, tailgating are second to none in my opinion.
