Having assistants to hold the HC off the field

When did this become a thing? I know more schools do it but it really stood out to me last night during UGA. Assistant has both hands wrapped around Kirby's belt holding him back from walking on the field. You mean to tell me that a 40 year old man doesn't have the restraint to keep himself from walking out to the hash marks while coaching? Looks like an idiot.

Did you see the replay of the end of the N.D / S.Cal game? Kelly was all the way out on the field,by the hash marks, signaling to his players while the on side kick was in the air. No call and not reviewable.

It's really pathetic to be honest. I guess strength and conditioning grad assistant has to earn his keep somehow

They changed a rule or put more emphasis on a rule a year or two ago and the hold back guy became a thing

Same with players getting water squirted in their mouth with their hands on their waist by some geek assistant.

Kirby is a damn joke. The sooner Georgia fans accept that, the better off they will be.

I get having someone there to pat you on the shoulder to say “come back to the sideline” but when you have a grown man holding you by the belt and you’re still pulling him out to the field.. nah.

It's been a thing for at least a decade. Yall new to watching football? Used to be called the "Get Back Coach".

All it would take is strict enforcement of that rule a few times and they’d get their asses back where they belong.

Scott Cochran's been doing it at Alabama for years.

Let us not forget Mullen last night who subs when LSU lines up on 4th down and didn't sub. Then the refs stop the play to tell him they can't sub. Then he comes 15 yards onto the field to discuss why he can't sub. All the while LSU is lined up to run the "hurry up" play.
How this doesn't generate a penalty is bizarre.

It’s all an act and show by these coaches.
Kirby is the fakest of all of them.
If you can’t control yourself to stay on a sideline you shouldn’t be making millions to lead a football program.

Big money in sports, let peeps earn their shares..before the rise of the machines takes their jobs.
I enjoy Cochran and assorted Strength Conditioning coaches earning their pay on Saturdays..even playing a bouncer.
