Yes

And how badly did you outnumber the home fans?

Very badly. Might have been 5k Vandy fans. When I was living near their campus, only way you’d know a game was going on would be a bunch of away fans walking around. Not unusual to see kids walking around campus with their books going to study on game day

2005 it was a month or so after Katrina so even with LSU's road numbers down some because ppl were still dealing with the storm stuff we still out numbered them big time. It is a good trip, good excuse to take a few days to see Nashville and watch your team win.

Didn’t UGA take over Notre Dame’s stadium when they went up there? I remember there were ALOT of pissed off Notre Dame fans/alumni after that happened. They said at best it was a neutral site game for them

Wasn’t close, it was easily 2 to 1 GA fans to Notre Dame fans.

They were super pissed. I thanked them for coming.

We went back in 2015 for a late November game. Just remember it was in the 30s, wind was blowing and it was cold as hell with those metal bleachers. Ags outnumbered Vandy pretty well but we came for the game and for Nashville. Vandy was bad.

Was gonna go in 2017, but it was unbelievably hot.

I went to Mizzou their first year in 2012 in that nonstop rainstorm. The BAMA fans made the trip. Besides the rain, I remember the Mizzou fans being gobsmacked at how we were light years ahead of them. To Pinkel’s credit, he had a great turnaround season the following year.

Was that the game LSU had 32,000 fans there and they ran out of beer?

It was easily 4:1 Ags, when we traveled there a few years ago. I think a similar type of thing will happen when Texas joins the SEC. Opposing fans are going to swarm Austin and far outnumber Texas fans until they can field a team with a pulse

In 2019, the loudest roar came from LSU fans when the beer trucks showed up at half time to restock.

Was at Mizzou-Vandy last year. Definitely felt like more Mizzou fans, although the stadium was more than half empty

Watched a game from suite at the Marriott overlooking the field. Louder in there than the stadium.

I went for our game in 2018. Was really depressing as it essentially marked the end of our season and the beginning of the end for Matt Luke. we definitely had more fans than Vandy did

Yep, it’s an interesting experience. They do have vocal fans which most folks don’t expect.

It’s like the game happens in a vacuum. No one outside the stadium knows a game is happening. Really weird

I’ve paid more to go to high school games than Vandy tickets. It’s a fun thing to do if you are bored in Nashville on a Saturday in the fall when they are playing a non SEC school. I gave tickets to a youth group a couple years ago that were in Nashville and they enjoyed a college game from the hill.

I have been to Vanderbilt twice as a visiting fan. Pretty pathetic the support Vanderbilt gets. I wish their fans, what few there are, would get out and support their team.

They have had some decent teams there over the years. I hope to see them get back to that. A problem with Vanderbilt is if they get a good coach as soon as he has any success he leaves.

Private schools have this problem - their student body is from all over the country and it is selective, they in turn tend to look down on the locals and the locals have a huge case of apathy towards the school and any of their athletic teams.

Been going to the UGA/Vandy game in Nashville since the late 80s. I don’t ever remember there being more than a few thousand Vandy fans there. It’s a sea of red when UGA comes to Nashville.
