Are you fricking high?

Yes, that was a serious question.

USC averaged 56,000 at home last year.

You're going to actually sit there with a straight face and speak that bullshite?

They did, however, set an new record for attendance at their spring game back in April.

33,427.

Nobody knows where Walmart is from. All they know is that there is one down the street from them where all the fat people congregate to get a good deal on Mountain Dew and black people walk out with a free tv when they feel aggrieved about something

Jet,
I am happy for you if you're happy. My conference, the SEC, is regional and I’m pretty sure the majority of fans want it that way. My post was to express my concern that the SEC might make a retaliatory move it does not need to make.

I just don’t see other than more money, what good this move does for these two schools. If making more money is all that college sports is about then selling your soul to the devil for money will have consequences

I truly hope the consequences work out for you.

I live here now. UCLA has minimal support. USC had bandwagon support before they got NFL teams. 90% of LA couldn’t care less about these 2 schools.

“I dunno, a generation ago I would agree 100% on brands but now it is all being run by kids with short attentions, greed $$$, and self interest. 5 years is the new 25 years in the under 30 set. I hope I am wrong but I have the sad feeling I am not.”

In the under 30 class, ok, but not everybody is under 30. Especially people making the decisions. A brand is a brand and usc, ucla, Michigan, Tennessee are all still brands that have appeal.

NO it isn’t & really it’s not even CLOSE unless your comparing them to a cellular dweller SEC football program like Vandy or Missouri. Hell all anyone has to do is watch any USC Home Game to see that this statement is FALSE in a really big way. Maybe you aren’t as familiar with SEC Football as you think you are because that statement falls well short of accurately describing USC Fandom compared to the SEC.

USC had their little Media backed NC in the early 2000’s (which were vacated due to CHEATING but hell even that's been 20 years ago now. UCLA hasn't been relevant Nationally since the 50’s (1 NC in ‘54). Hell they haven't even won a PAC-12 Championship since 1998.

Yeah, LA is not a college city. B1G brought them in for name brand alone. They are still a name brand just like Nebraska is. Results be damned.

It's a city that's roughly 30x the size of the average college town does this surprise you?

They're both top 25 in revenue. That's all anyone cares about.

Outside of Cal, Stanford, and UCLA games I highly doubt USC fans were flocking to any of the PAC-12 road games. They’re all really far away to begin with.

It looks like Oregon is a bigger tv draw than USC/UCLA. Hell, Auburn has had more viewers than USC has had the last few years.

UCLA football peaked in the 60's. Like Michigan they are just a brand to far removed from being a power team. Like the Vols are getting to be, but the 90's may have been the last of them. Who would have guessed that in say 96'?

UCLA really didn't "peak" in the '60s...

They have been the same three or four good/almost great teams a decade and five or six mediocre to crappy teams a decade since the 1940s.

The reason people might think they "peaked" in the '60s is because of that epic game between Gary Beban and OJ in 1967. Outside of the Porker-Steer game in '69 and the Sparty-ND game in 1966 that USC UCLA game was the biggest game of the entire decade.

I would challenge you to go through the most recent decades and try and apply this formula. Your current HC has a losing record and you just extended him 4 years

No one thinks about UCLA football
