Pumped the brakes on your expectations of success in the postseason? As fans of SEC teams, do you not take the results too seriously now if the team you support no longer hangs on every win or loss in bowl season if the CFP or NY6 are off the table?

The playoffs having made the bowls irrelevant, at least for the top 15 or so teams that can make the playoffs and compete for a title.

I think the fact that there are almost 40 bowl games are whats making them irrelevant.

It's the "everyone gets a trophy" movement that the boomer generation started.

The fact that there are 40 bowl games is an excuse to make as much money as possible, which is a Boomer problem, not a millennial one

Yea, they mattered big time in the BCS era.

So how bad will the score be or will Ohio make it an actual game in the playoff. Is that the standard for Ohio bucks to just get there and flop?

my kids care, and so do all of their friends. Some of my oldests high school buddies went to Auburn, my son is at Bama, and they bicker a lot and are at each other's throats every year leading up to the Iron Bowl.

In all seriousness the last time bowls mattered was prior to the BCS era. Then you could still argue upset winners of #1 in 1 bowl should surpass 2nd/3rd place winners in other bowls. Now it’s almost scientific if not still controversial.

I still watch some bowls that involve P5 teams...few as they may be before 12/28.

Has nothing to do with anything other than the postseason is pointless if you’re not in the CFP. While NY6 games could be fun, they mean nothing, which is an argument for an expanded playoff.
