Okay so who should’ve been the 2007 National Champion to make it an untainted title?

Let me guess, the 2020 national champ crowned in a season with upwards to 50 cancellations/postponements and a plethora of opt-outs with star players having to sit out due to non-injury reasons is gonna be a suuuuper legitimate title if Alabama wins it.

More legit than a 2-loss "undefeated in regulation" title.

And if we're judged the best team at the end of this season--playoff or no--you're damned right.

It's no different than any other year that each team had the same opportunity to get to the title game. The other teams couldn't handle the pressure to get there and then LSU dismantled the #1 team. It's no more tainted than a team winning it without winning their conference championship. All a reflection of the season.

Watching Alabama fans turn themselves into a pretzel with their logic going all over their place dismissing the BCS system in 2007 but praising the same system in 2011 (and the process that garnered them Top 4 recognition in 2017) is always funny!
