I think most knew that he had been suspended for one season. Did anyone know that it was actually 2 seasons?

quote:

According to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate, Fulton was suspended by the NCAA for two years -- one for allegedly attempting to use a fraudulent drug testing sample during his true freshman season, and another for "failing" the test in which the fraudulent sample was allegedly used.

I used the search function and didn't see anything.

Yes it has been discussed. And the articles are written terrible IMHO

He was suspeneded two years, 730 days, for tampering with the test. That is the NCAA rule for tampering with your sample on an NCAA test (not the ones given by the school, but the very rare ones the ncaa gives out)

The articles make it sound like failing the test in also why it was two years. It isnt. Tampering is an auto two years.

Now, in saying so. The consensus on the Rant is he is likely an idiot, because the NCAA doesnt even test for recreational drugs unless it is at the bowl game, so he would have passed anyway (unless it was the bowl game, or he was actually juicing)

The other consensus is two years is ridiculous punishment. It is, but it is clearly defined

A small number on the rant are Bama obsessed and keep bringing them up for some reason

No. Auto 730 ban for tampering with test

quote:

A student-athlete who is involved in a case of clearly observed tampering with an NCAA drug test, as documented per NCAA drug-testing protocol by a drug-testing crew member, shall be declared ineligible for further participation in postseason and regular-season competition during the time period ending two calendar years (i.e., 730 days) after the student-athlete was involved in tampering with a drug test.

No. If you're dumb enough to tamper with a drug test, you deserve everything you get.

I'm sorry, but I have no sympathy. Another bang-up job by the Grass Eater and Oeaux Neaux in recruiting.

Use someone else's piss = one penalty for fraud

Failing to provide your own piss = automatic failure just like if you refused = one penalty for failing

Nope, they accused him of tampering with the sample and he got the automatic 2 year ban as it state in the rule. Believe it is the only way you can get a 2 year ban by the NCAA. He has been tested many times since and passed every one. His dad/lawyer are on the NCAA's case to get it dropped to 1 year, questions surrounding the "tampering" part of it.

Even if someone tampers, the fact you get 2 years instead of 1 is just crazy.

Pipe down, Francis. Does it really fricking matter? No.

He tampered with his own drug test. Frankly, he should be kicked out of school. The rule and the penalty are on the books for a reason. If he's that goddamned stupid to tamper with a drug test, he should go work at McDonald's.

This. It's not that he should be penalized for the test or even the tampering with the test. It's that he was stupid enough to tamper with the test. Brain surgeon. So spare me the righteous indignation that the two-year ban is unfair or that, God forbid, we didn't get the reasons right for why he is suspended for two years. I save my sympathy and understanding for kids with cancer.

WHO THE frick CARES?!?!?! WHO GIVES A shite?!?!?!?! WHY DOES IT MATTER?!?!?!?! He's out for two years for being a dumbass. The exact reasons are irrelevant.

Instead of going to beat a puppy, go beat yourself.
