Has it been posted that Barnes said that buyout is the only reason he is not at UCLA?

It would be more concerning if he said he'd stay in Knoxville versus Westwood money being equal. At least we know he isnt an idiot.

So UCLA wasn't going to pay his buyout at UT? That's really really dumb on their part. Why even bother to offer the guy at all if you aren't going to foot the entire bill for getting him?

It was a huge buyout. Like 5 million.

It’s the same reason they passed on Jamie Dixon at TCU too. Didn’t want to pay his buyout.

Yeah, that's not exactly pocket change, but if they weren't willing to pay it, they were just pissing in the wind from the start with him.
