Mississippi State has the biggest win for Alabama since the 2017 National Championship.

I wouldn’t say 6-3 is a skull effing.

To bring the irony full circle and make everyone mad, it happened the same year the Georgia Bulldogs were last relevant

At least LSC scored 34 points. Alabanners only scored 3. Ouch

OP must be 12.
I remember the 6-3 game.
We were not just the defending champ. We were going for the three-peat and had not lost a conference game in 4 years.

While amusing, State beat 1980 Alabama after the 1979 National Title team.
That State team went 9-3.
There's the bar for this State team.

From Twitter:

Bama was 71-4 in SEC play from 1971-1981!

Mississippi State people have been saying for almost 40 years that their 6-3 win over 2-time defending champion Alabama in Jackson in 1980 was the biggest in school history.
It might have just been bumped.

for the record, my buddy Tom Warner, who graduated from MSU in the late 1980s, said “no way” when I suggested this.

2014 Auburn is bigger than both still

No fricking way that game yesterday was bigger than 1980 Bama game. Not even close.
btw,I’m one of the ones old enough to have been there that wasn’t.
Was listening on the radio about 5 miles from the stadium, with two tickets to the game on my parents counter...I was furious my dad didn’t take me.

6-3 is hardly a skull fricking. That was a defensive slugfest and Bama actually got to the State 3 yd line in the last minute with a chance to win the game.
This on the other Hand set a new SEC record for passing yards and Beat the Supposed greatest defending champs in history by 10, it Should’ve been by 21!
