Why not?
Serious question. He’s the ONLY mf to consistently beat saban.
Why not? If I was LSU I would hire gus

Why would LSU fire O to hire a guy that O owned?

The obvious answer for LSU is Dave Aranda. He'd do a fine job.

Has Gus ever experienced a victory in Tiger Stadium?

My pick as well.
Aranda is basically the opposite of the two cartoon characters LSU has had recently and I'm ready for a change.
Wouldn't mind seeing LSU take a shot at him.

Gus is legitimately a HS football coach. In one fall camp you can learn his offense for your position group. Diabolically, I think that's why Gus gave Saban trouble. AU was a Wing-T team with play action and some other shucks and jives.

He's done fine at Baylor. He understands Louisiana. The job is definitely not too big for him.
That would be my guy, if I was y'all. He'll get 'em back solid pretty quick - won't be anymore 21 point losses to Kentucky. Then he'll get 'em back in the Top 5. After that ... who knows ? But I truly think Dave Aranda - as a man who's managed that talent on one side of the line - can run that program.

Gus is always welcome to buy a ticket. I believe BR Waffle Houses are currently boasting a 75% survival rate.

Aranda definitely has a more cerebral approach to the game than Miles or O. I think he’s a little more low key than I’d prefer, but he’d definitely be a strong hire.

Same.
If we can't get a more proven guy and have to take a shot at someone, it should be him.
If he can hire a good OC, we should be able to put together a strong team.

Gus with good offensive linemen is dangerous. Unfortunately they stopped wanting to commit to play for him. I think it’s because his offense doesn’t translate well to the NFL.

Gus never recruited the line of scrimmage players necessary to consistently compete with the best teams in this league year in and year out.
He also has no understanding of player development.
Gus did not have enough trust of players to teach sight adjustments or in play route adjustments.
If Gus did not trick you, his offense was easy to stop.
If you like multiple blowout losses most years against the top teams with a run for SEC championship every now and then, then maybe he’s the guy.
If you want to build a program to compete with the best at the line of scrimmage, try someone else.

Gus might do pretty good there with the quality of athletes LSU gets.

When he had the right guys and they executed perfectly, they could run it down anybody’s throat. It’s why he’d usually start slow and every once in a while end the season at championship level.
Not consistent but he could take out Saban more than anyone else could.
