Our recruiting class is abysmal and currently ranked 39th. The end is likely near.
Please do what you couldn’t do last year, Alabama.

Are you sure about that drop? I’ve seen where it drops to $21MM on Dec 1st.

Gus does just enough every year to save his job. Just barely

That’s his current buyout. It drops on December 1st.

This is correct. The staff, Gus, and the buyout for the new coach will be roughly $30M. Some Auburn fans are delusional and think he is gone after this year. It's the same blowhards who continually post about him being fired after this season.

I’d put it at <50% odds he’s the coach this time next week if we lose by 24+ today.

This is a COVID season, AU will not bite the bullet and cut that crew loose.

When we lose by 24 today.

He beat Arkansas this year, with a big assist from the refs, and that’s good enough for Auburn’s admin to keep him around.

We are probably going to lose by that much and he will be coaching next week.

No that’s not correct. The buyout is 75% of his remaining contract.
After December 1st, he has ~7 million per year for 3 years remaining, making the buyout ~15 million.
The current buyout is 21 million because he has 28 million remaining on his contract. 75% of that is 21 million.
Auburn can afford 15 million dollars spaced out over several years. South Carolina just did it with Muschamp.

Gus going in balls deep today.

He isn't going anywhere. Move on

Gus will do enough to build excitement then get an extension.
Wash, rinse, repeat.

Not sure who else needs to hear it, but beating Arkansas means absolutely nothing to our administration. Only losing that game, which is terribly embarrassing when it happens every 5-6 years would affect a coaching move.

Most Auburn fans don’t understand his contract details. With the buyout dropping soon and a looming potential iron bowl beatdown there’s a strong chance a change is made.
