It's amazing what the occasional win over Bama will get you at the barn.

I'm not sure you want to go there. We have a discount coach with no wins vs Bama - yet.

Malzhan is the only active SEC head coach to beat Bama twice.

We didn't do it, a single booster and a cabbage-headed yankee president (no longer the prez ) did that. Most of us wanted him and Sexton both to head to Arkansas

Jeff Brohm is 15-18 and will make 6.6M this year.

Chew on that one for a minute

Gus is 2-0 vs Jimbo at TAMU, 75 Million 100% guaranteed.

Gus has 1 SEC Championship.

Gus is 2-4 vs. Saban (2013 and 2017)

Gus is average, but a lot of average coaches making a lot of money.

When Gus was hired, Arkie Hired Bret B, Tennessee hired Butch Jones. How are the programs at Arkie and UT? Once proud good programs. Now in shambles.

You are comparing programs. Not coaches. Plus, I think we all know it has been closer than that.

What Kirby is doing in recruiting right now is incredible. He is getting the kids from the state of Georgia to stay home. That is something that needed to be done. For now, he is doing so. But that is not a fair comparison to recruiting at Auburn. He should be able to do better with his base and lack of in state competition.

Over all, Kirby has not won anything more on the field than Gus. He has done his damage in a time where his division was much weaker and his schedule has been significantly easier than Gus's has been. He also took over a program in much better shape than Gus did and I think overall, Gus has done more with less

My biggest issue with Kirby is that he coaches well when he totally out matches teams but in a fight, he looks like a deer in the headlights. He did a great job against Oklahoma but other than that, he has never impressed me.

So this is the new Auburn spin?
Beyond hilarious.

Please, Auburn was equal or better than UGA throughout the 70's,80's and 90's.Hell,VD had a losing record vs them.

How much "better" should he be doing? Played for an NC his 2nd year and was a quarter away from going to the playoffs last year.Swept the East 2 years in a row (something CMR never did once) He's also recruiting at a level CMR never did

Do you really think this team would've done better with Gus coaching em the last 3 1/2 years? C'mon

Kirby certainly has his shortcomings but to say there's "no question" about who the better coach is a bit absurd.
He's also an outstanding defensive coach.
