Figured this would be useful for some. Figured it's good to post here since a lot of you will be coming to Gainesville this year. If you didn't know, Gainesville Police Department and University Police at UF are notorious for writing tickets for open-container on gameday.

Let me know if you need more info. I'll post it on the Florida message board too so it can be easily found.

No... it's fine, I just didn't want to get into the whole:

"Well, you cannot use kegs unless they're in the back of your truck, but even then it's still prob not okay. Binge drinking is generally a big no-no if you're tailgating next to a bunch of college students -- just asking for cops to give you hard time."

Not going into that. Just don't act like an arse and you're fine.

Is Calloway injured? Or still suspended? Either way, go Gata!

You guys will beat the Vols.

LSUAlum's guide to avoid getting arrested in Gainesville...

1. Don't go to Gainesville, it sucks.
2. If you don't follow rule #1, don't wear your team's colors.
3. If you don't follow rules #1 and #2, you're fricked, bring bail money.

Very helpful. Thanks!

Best place to park? Would probably prefer to park a little farther out and walk farther if it will help with traffic.

Too bad burrito Famous closed. Could add a "how not to get your car towed by a-hole managers" addition

I'd park on SW 23rd street between University and SW 2nd avenue... or one of the streets before it that is between University and 2nd avenue. Easier out to the interstate, but they're private lots and you're probably looking at $30 for the closest and going down from there. But at least you can tailgate on the private lots with no issues with cops and campus is right there if you decide to go over there. Campus fills up early.. and the closer you get to game time, traffic will be shitty. Especially this game since we won't be having as many cops directing traffic since they're helping elsewhere. Hope that helps.

Honestly, I've only seen the cops mess with people that are being belligerent and/or look super arse young.

Other than that, the only time I've seen opposing fan being "targeted" was when they were the only one walking across the street with a beer not in a solo cup and/or were being belligerent.
